Requirements for Acceptance: Submission of this application does not constitute formal application for admission to the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Before you can be accepted into RAP, you must complete the following steps:

2.Identify a graduate advisor
3.Be accepted into the academic department

Essay: Please attach an essay (1000 word limit)that describes your interest in, and vision of, interdisciplinary approaches to resilience, adaptation, or sustainability. How does your past experience prepare you for RAP? What type of thesis research do you hope to undertake in the Resilience and Adaptation Program at UAF? How will RAP training help you address your professional goals? This essay is the most effective way to convince the admissions committee that you should be accepted into RAP. Please read the criteria for acceptance in the application section and write this essay carefully. This essay may be different than the letter submitted to the department or graduate school.
