Please make sure to include a short but detailed description of failure that will help us to shorten the processing time. The average processing time is 15 working days. We will look into the repair matter as soon as possible and will effect replacement or return shipment asap.
Please note: Mechanical damages e.g. breaks, cuts, dents, scratches etc, or electrical damages due to over -voltage are not covered by warranty if the damages occurred after shipment of the goods. In this case you will receive a separate cost report.

RMA Procedure Guideline
Applicable to goods purchased from Kontron Embedded Modules GmbH,
1. RMA Number Allocation:
Please request a RMA number in advance for every return shipment as returned goods without corresponding RMA number cannot be processed. Therefore we would kindly ask you to send us the filled in RMA form sheet by e-mail or fax (e-mail address and fax no. stated above) in advance. Please make sure to state a short but detailed failure description as it will help us to shorten the processing time. You will promptly receive the RMA number which you can than state on the RMA form sheet that has to be enclosed with the return shipment. Please also provide the serial number(s) of the returned good(s) for an upfront check of warranty (“Gewährleistung”) coverage.
2. Loss of Warranty (“Gewährleistung”) according to §§ 437 et sqq. German Civil Code
Mechanical damages e.g. breaks, cuts, dents, scratches etc, or electrical damages due to over -voltage are not covered by warranty if the damages occurred after shipment of the goods. Unjustified returned goods will be sent back at sender’s expense.
3. Return Shipment for Repair:
Please return the filled-in RMA form sheet including the RMA# together with the defective goods.
Please do not write on the original product packaging.
Please put the RMA number both on the delivery note AND the outer package.
A detailed failure description will help to analyse the problem and shorten the processing time.
Please return the goods to us at your expense (recipients address is given on RMA form.)
4. Return consignment for inspection
In certain cases it might be necessary to return goods for inspection or to send in hardware/goods from third parties.
This normally happens upon agreement with our responsible technical support staff. Please mark
“inspection/analysis” on the RMA sheet in this case and mention the name of the responsible Kontron contact person if possible. This procedure avoids misdirection and shortens the processing time. Should the assessed failure not have been caused by KONTRON we reserve the right to charge you the additional cost.
5. ESD Protection:
Please return the goods in their original packaging if possible or in a packing of equal quality that ensures safe transport. ESD sensitive products have to be protected by ESD packaging according to IEC/TS61340-5-1.
Warranty becomes void automatically if these packaging guidelines are not met since we cannot rule out damages due to unsafe return transport.
