APPENDIX C Specific undertakings between the Air Cadet League of Canada and

Air Transport Association of Canada

(ATAC)

Whereas the Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC) is the national association representing commercial aviation in Canada with great interest in the human resource strategy for the aviation industry in Canada;

and whereas the Air Cadet League of Canada (ACLC) is an organization incorporated to promote continuing education, encourage among young people a practical interest in aeronautics and assist those intending to pursue careers in aviation and aerospace;

and whereas the ACLC and ATAC wish to mutually respect and support each other’s aims and goals, this agreement witnesses that the Air Transport Association of Canada and the Air Cadet League of Canada agree to collaborate in partnership as follows:

ATAC will provide its career awareness materials and educational materials to the ACLC for distribution to its squadrons;

ATAC will develop and produce safety related materials, which would be made available to the ACLC for distribution to its squadrons;

ATAC will provide two annual continuation flying bursaries of $500.00 each to cadets selected by the ACLC. These bursaries will only be valid when paid directly to an ATAC member flying school;

ATAC will provide national aviation operations experience and exposure by providing access for selected air cadets, chosen from squadrons in the host city, to the Annual General Meeting, Convention and Tradeshow, as well as access for selected cadets from the Ottawa area to ATAC’s Annual Ottawa Spring Reception;

ATAC will recognize graduates upon successful completion of the air cadet powered flying scholarship training program through the issuance of graduation certificates to each candidate in accordance with established policy;

ATAC, through those of its members who agree to participate, will provide the following benefits and incentives to the ACLC:

Aircraft Rental Discounts

Groundschool Discounts

Meeting Space and Parade Grounds

An air cadet who obtains aPrivate Pilot Licence at an ATAC school may be authorized to wear the Power Pilot Wings. To be eligible, the individual must be actively participating in the cadet flying program as a pilot. A request must be forwarded, through the chain of command, to the Regional Cadet Air Operations Officer (RCA Ops O) or equivalent for approval;

The Air Cadet League of Canada will recognize the Air Transport Association of Canada as the national association representing commercial aviation.

I hereby pledge on behalf of the Air Transport Association of Canada, that we will do our best to supply the aforementioned resources to the best of our ability in our ongoing collaboration.
