MHAC – National Level (Political)
§  Nic emailed Char and requested report from last MHAC meeting and this has not been forthcoming. Char’s email address is no longer valid as emails bounce back as invalid address
§  Rumours about possibility of MHAC discontinuing from June 2010
§  If MHAC continues new nominees will attend on behalf of HTNK:

§  Process – official letter from HTNK to MHAC to advise who are our new representatives
§  Contact Char to advise and thank her for representation on behalf of HTNK followed with an official letter advising discontinuation of representation on MHAC for our group

§  Commitment of 2-3 years is preferred by MHAC group

Nga Hau e Wha (NHEW) – Consumer Group
§  HTNK current representatives are Char & Noeline, Barbara has been attending on behalf of Noeline and is doing an excellent job
§  Noeline advised she will be stepping down from representing HTNK at NHEW for health reasons
§  New representatives nominated to attend NHEW on behalf of HTNK:

§  Nic contacted Eseta regarding our funding – our forum is funded the same way as other regional groups
§  Eseta to present a snapshot of what was spent at next meeting
Barbara – NHEW (Drug & Medication)
§  This was raised at NHEW, the group suggested that Char raise this at MHAC, unfortunately the topic did not reach the agenda as this was full
§  Recommended that people go to their GP requesting a signed letter to say they are on medication and are safe to drive, this will be helpful to the police
§  Sue is happy to assist and contact Huka to find out more information and do further research

2.1 / Simone Funding / §  Simone thanked HTNK for supporting and enabling her to continue AELMP studies
§  Simone shared successes and project about business case for positive change and designed a plan around enabling mobile services, this was so successful the lecturer spoke to the Tony Ryall on how this could be rolled out which can be used across the spectrum
§  Workforce Development Coordinators – to share what they are doing around workforce initiatives, Carolyn Swanson (Strategic Day)
§  Consumer workforce survey – only relevant for those in a sole consumer role, this limits our potential, want info with people in consumer roles / §  Invite Carolyn Swanson to present at Strategic Day

§  Lets Get Real is not a compulsory framework

§  NGO enablers workshops are completed in Tairawhiti including induction to DHB advisory group
§  August to December 2009 LGR rolled out to NGO sectors in the Midland region via Regional Forms & LAGs – all NGOs completed in Midland region
§  Midlands is leading the way nationally
Takarangi Core Competencies
§  14 competencies which are aligned to the 7 Real Skills and is a practical training tool
§  Fully sponsored by Matua Raki & Te Rau Matatini

Suicide Intervention & Prevention (SIP)
§  Joint partnership/relations with Anamata PTE in Whakatane
§  Level 6 Certificate in SIP and also a Level 4 Certificate in Social Work Abuse, Neglect and Violence
§  Lobbied for scholarships for 25 participants – DHB asked for support, NGO to support their staff attendance and Midlands contributed 4 scholarships per course to Tangata Whaiora and Family, Whanau workers
§  3 cohorts completed training and graduated in Ruatoki

Seitapu Trust – Le Va under the umbrella of Te Pou
§  Frame work for people working with pacific communities

Midland Regional Clinical Consultant
§  Role was reviewed and position has been disestablished. The Midland Region will contract specialists to cover projects to support the region and Eseta has ensured anything left unfinished will be completed by herself and Haehaetu. John is still working for Lakes DHB in Taupo region. / §  Liaise with Haehaetu to invite Le Va to present at next hui
2.6 / PRIMHD Update / Scope of PRIMHD
§  PRMIHD shares a persons journey through the services
§  Te Kupenga Trust first Consumer 1 to report to PRIMHD – going very well and MoH very happy with data. Viviienne happy with the progress with this organisation
§  Two organisations in Midland Region ticked off as giving good and consistent data
§  HISOR review - wanting to capture data for travel in PRIMHD – eg. 3 people maybe travelling to client this data needs to be collect by one person only, validation in rural areas. With caseloads seeing the data
§  All PRIMHD coordinators are noting recommendations and suggestions into booklet ready to submit to MoH. Going into a template which will go to MoH
§  Nothing can be added to PRIMHD until this is ratified by the HISOR group
§  Consumer organisations – people come in seeking advice, this may not be the right service and need to refer them on. Collect the information put the referral in and discharge them (in & out stuff) this activity can be reported on
§  Every organisation should be able to capture something
§  HTNK requested input to the development of PRIMHD consumer pamphlet. Vivienne approach MoH who advised NO. Pamphlets will be available next month and will be distributed to the Provider Arm
