JR RANGER PROGRAMS

“JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAM”

Please join us on these days for the programs listed below. Completing one set of programs that are from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM each Tuesday in June. Picking up a bag of litter as well will allow you to complete Canaveral National Seashore’s Junior Ranger Program. Junior Ranger patch and certificate will be awarded when the assigned activities are completed.

Tuesday, June 6th - 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM - “ARTS & CRAFTS - MANATEE MANIA”

Explore with a ranger and look for manatee at Mosquito Lagoon. Make a manatee craft to take home. Walk the beach and explore the seashore. See what treasures you can find and help pick up trash left behind. Meet at the Eddy Creek boat ramp. (2 hours)

Tuesday, June 13th - 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – “JR RANGER CAST NETTING”

Join a ranger at the edge of the lagoon. Learn to cast net and see what may be caught in this area of Mosquito Lagoon. Bring your own cast net or borrow one of ours (limited supply). Walk the beach and explore the seashore. See what treasures you can find and help pick up trash left behind. Meet at the Eddy Creek boat ramp. (2 hours)

Tuesday, June 20th – 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – “ARTS & CRAFTS - SHARK WEEK”

Learn the significance of sharks to our ocean environment and make a craft with a ranger. Walk the beach and explore the seashore. See what treasures you can find and help pick up trash left behind. Meet at Eddy Creek pavilion. (2 hours)

All activities will meet at Eddy Creek. Bring water, wear sunscreen, and parent or guardian must also stay for the program.
