Position: Coordinator, Center for Designed Philanthropy,Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles

We are the largest manager of charitable assets for Greater Los Angeles Jewish philanthropists, with more than $900 million in assets under management. Our Center for Designed Philanthropy manages our institutional grantmaking programs and assists our donors with their grantmaking.
Position Summary
As part of the Center for Designed Philanthropy team, the Coordinator supports 4 staff (Center Director and 3 Program Officers), serving as: 1)First Point of Contact for grantees and donors contacting the Center, providing ongoing administrative support and 2) Primary department lead for managing the Grants Database (GrantedGE) and Raisers Edge.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Answering and responding to phone and email inquiries
  • Managing the Center department calendar and calendaring meetings for department staff, as needed
  • Handling preparations and setup for committee meetings and special events, including sending out meeting notices, tracking RSVPs in Raisers Edge, greeting and escorting guests to the offices, handling refreshments and AV setup, copying and collating of meeting materials and handling room arrangements
  • Creating new constituent records and updating existing constituent records for grantee organizations and contacts in the Raisers Edge database following Foundation protocols.
  • Track grants and generate grant correspondence through the life-cycle of grants, using GrantedGEdatabase
  • Managing Center electronic and print files (scanning documents, creating hard and e-files)
  • Scanning, sorting and processing department mail
  • Managing department stock of supplies, ordering supplies as necessary
  • Assisting with Foundation reception phone coverage in rotation with other Foundation administrative staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • RAISER'S EDGE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (grants database experience desired)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft XP, Office (particularly Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Proficient in using the Internet
  • Strong typing skills (60+ WPM)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a time-sensitive environment
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent attention to detail

Minimum Education
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience
• Three to five years of experience in a support role.
