Write your story: What brought you to CrossFit? Why did you want to coach? Why did you want to open a gym? (We’ll use this in marketing materials, to train your staff, and in other ways later.)

I had a military background with the USMC where I quickly learned the best ways to get my body into shape was working out. While passing that knowledge and drive on to others, I was responsible for helping countless failing marines bring their PT (Physical Training) scores up to a passing level. Since leaving the USMC I have acquired a number of training and nutrition qualifications and enjoyed passing that knowledge on to others. I heard about CrossFit in 2011, and started coaching in 2012, and have been obsessed with it ever since. Getting into CrossFit has been the best decision of my life. I think I get more excited when I am coaching someone and I see him or her learn a new lift or movement or make a new PR than they do. It’s exhilarating! I have worked with every form of athlete from College Football players to obese children and paraplegic’s forming a specific plan for each one by learning their individual personalities and what drove them to reach their goals. I opened a CrossFit gym in 2012 so I could make decisions about how to best run my business based on what my clients wanted. I have learned so much from other people and enjoyed

At age 54, my I realized I had focused my entire being to work and children. I had added more pounds over the years than I wanted to continue to carry around with me. I was on blood pressure medicines and was very de-conditioned. My dad passed away with diabetes that impacted all of his organs. I realized that I was on the same path as he had been on from a health perspective. I hired a personal trainer that I worked with 3 times a week and began to get more energy and loose body fat. He was very interested in CrossFit and began introducing some of the principles in our 1:1 sessions. I loved it. I had ben active over the years until I started having a family and focused my attention on them. So I fell in love with fast passed workouts. After a year of working out with him, I followed his lead and became a C level 1 trainer. He actually opened a gym where I participated in-group sessions for a year and then started to do some of the classes in his absence. I absolutely love CrossFit and the impact it has had on my physical and mental health. After 2 years of CrossFit, he asked me to become a partner, which I did. I love to help others reach a goal they have for themselves. I think I am more excited when they conquer a new skill and able to do so with ease than they are. I am in the best shape I have been in since my 20s and I love it!!!!

Answer the Four Big Questions in a .doc file:
What’s CrossFit? (Pretend we just met in a line at the coffee shop. I notice your t-shirt, and ask for your elevator pitch. Hint: include novelty, total-body workout, etc.) `
CrossFit is functional fitness program combining weightlifting, gymnastics and metabolic conditioning designed to get optimal results that you can use in your everyday life. Its an exercise routine where everyday at the gym is different routine. You are working out in a group environment with a personal trainer/coach watching your movements. You are competing against the clock and your friends. You see real world applicable result more so than in a Globogym.
Why CrossFit? (Why should I stop my Globogym membership, or choose your gym over Pilates?)
Crossfit is all about functional movements. You work you entire body as opposed to focusing on one body part at the time. Most workouts are for 15-30 minutes and you work most muscle groups.
When you are working out with a group of people you get the push and motivation from them to push harder than you thought you could do. You amaze yourself every day with what capacity your body has that you never explored before.
Who does CrossFit? (Do I need to get in shape before starting? Hint: use social proof; tell stories of people “just like me” at your gym.)
Not at all. You can come in at any level of fitness and we can adjust the workouts to meet your needs. We scale it up for the tougher athletes and scale down for the weaker athletes.
Where should I do CrossFit? (Why your gym? List at least ten strategic advantages, including both delivery of service–enthusiastic coaching, new equipment–and facility advantages–lots of parking, clean showers, convenient location.)
The people, the coaches, the atmosphere, the facility, the training program.

CrossFit is a functional fitness program that anyone of any age can participate in. It is a total body workout that changes every day so you do not get bored with the same routine day in and day out. CrossFit mentally challenges you to push yourself beyond what you thought your body could do. The beauty of CrossFit is that it is scalable to any person regardless of their age, their health, or their current capacity. Everyone is able to participate in the same workout, but with different degrees of movement. The overall impact on your health is overwhelming. People have been able to come off all medications for high blood pressure and cholesterol.
In a nutshell, CrossFit is a program that allows individuals to perform at their own ability while at the same time, building muscle and capacity.

Anyone can do CrossFit. I am 58 and started in a very deconditioned capacity. I could not even run on the treadmill over 30 seconds without having to stop. I am able to do most workout as prescribed and able to be very competitive with my performance when I workout with 25 year olds. Does it happen overnight? NO. But with time and hard work, performance improves with dramatic results in fat loss and tone.
