Ring A – Ring start time 9.00am
Class 1 – Tack and Turnout / Rider aged 13 years and under to include lead rein.
Class 2 – Tack and Turnout / Rider aged 14 years and over.
Class 3 – Pony Club Pony / To include first ridden and lead rein riders under 10 years of age. Small jump included. Riders do not need to be members of the Pony Club.
Class 4 - Pony Club Pony / 14.2hh and under. Small jump included. Riders do not need to be members of the Pony Club.
Class 5 – Riding Club Horse / To exceed 14.2hh. Small jump included. Riders do not need to be members of a Riding Club.
Class 6 – Ridden Hunter / No jump included.
Class 7 – Show Hunter Pony / No jump included.
Class 8 – Championship / For winners of classes 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Champion and Reserve to go through to Supreme of Show.
Ring B – Ring start time 11.00am
Class 9 – Retrained Racehorse
In hand / Open to retired/retrained racehorses of any age
Class 10 – Veteran in-hand / Pony/Horse aged 16 years and over.
Class 11 - Retrained Racehorse
Ridden / Open to retired/retrained racehorses of any age
Class 12 - Coloured Horse and
Pony – in hand / To include Duns and Palominos.
Class 13 – Veteran Horse/Pony
Ridden / Pony/Horse aged 16 years and over. Special rosette for oldest veteran!
Class 14 – Coloured Horse Ridden / To include Duns and Palominos
Class 15 – Coloured Pony Ridden / Not to exceed 14.2hh – to include Duns and Palominos.
Class 16 – Championship Class / For winners of classes 9,10,11,12,13,14 and 15. Champion and reserve will go through to Supreme in Show.
Ring C – Indoor Arena – Showjumping – Ring start time 10.00am
Class 17 – Lead Rein Ponies / Genuine beginners only please. Approx jump height 30cm (1ft) Must be on a lead rein; horse or pony.
Class 18 – Wobblies / Genuine beginners only please. Approx jump height 38cm (1ft 3”).
Class 19 – Minimus / Combination not to have won 3 or more 1sts in any show jumping competition at this height or above. Approx jump height 46cms (1ft 6”).
Class 20 – Skills Class / Fun class with extra points awarded for riding without a stick (5), without stirrups (10), and bareback (15). One round against the clock. Approx jump height 46cm/1ft6”
Class 21 – Novice Novice / Approx jump height 53cm (1ft 9”).
Class 22 – Novice / Approx jump height 69cms (2ft – 2ft 3”).
Class 23 – Intermediate / Approx jump height 84cms (2ft 6”).
Class 24 – Open / Approx jump height 91cms (2ft 9”).

Muirfield Riding Therapy respectfully requests that competitors only enter classes for which they are genuinely eligible. This is a fun show! Show jumping classes are capped at 25 for safety reasons.

For all showjumping classes, if clear in the first round proceed immediately to timed round (A5) NON BSJA Rules.

Ring D – Outdoor Arena – Clear round Showjumping
This arena will be open from 10.00am to 2.30pm. Pay at the entrance to the arena prior to entry. £3 per round.
Ring E – Working Hunter Ring start time 10.30pm.
Please note: Rider/Horse or Pony combination restricted to one Working Hunter Class entry.
Class 25 - Working Hunter –
exceeding 14.2hh / Jumps approx. 60cms (2ft 6” – 2ft 9”).
Class 26 - Working Hunter –
14.2hh & under / Jumps approx. 70cms (2ft 3”).
Class 27 - Working Hunter –
13.2hh & under / Jumps approx. 60cms (2ft). Entrants in this class cannot enter class 27.
Class 28 - Working Hunter –
Mountain & Moorland / Jumps approx. 45cms (1ft 6”).
Class 29 - Working Hunter
Championship / For winners of classes 25,26,27 and 28. Champion and reserve will go through to Supreme in Show.
Class 30 – Novice Working Hunter
for Horses and Ponies / Jump height 45cms (1ft 6”). This class is for genuine Novices only.
First ridden and lead rein welcome.
Ring F – Ring start time 9.00am
Class 31 – Tack and Turnout
Hairy Ponies/Horses / Riders all ages and includes lead rein and Mountain and Moorland.
Class 32 - Tack and Turnout airy
Hairy Horses/Ponies / Riders aged 14 years and over and includes Mountain & Moorland
Class 33 - Mountain and Moorland in-hand - small breeds
Class 34 - Mountain and Moorland in-hand -large breeds.
Class 35 - Ridden Mountain and Moorland (small breeds).
Class 36 - Ridden Mountain and Moorland (large breeds).
Class 37 – Mountain and Moorland Championship for winners of classes 33, 34, 35 and 36.
Champion and Reserve to go through to Supreme of Show.
FROM APPROXIMATELY 2PM – FUN CLASSES
Class 38 – Fancy Dress
Class 39 – Young Handlers (Handler aged 16 years and under) - in hand class.
Class 40 – Just My Best Friend – Every shape, size, colour and character, loved by YOU!
Class 41 – Prettiest Mare – in hand.
Class 42 - Handsomest Gelding – in hand.
Class 43 – Prettiest Mare – under saddle (no show required).
Class 44 – Handsomest Gelding – under saddle (no show required).
SUPREME IN SHOW: Champion and Reserve from Classes 8, 29 and 37 will be invited to be judged for Supreme in Show. Time and ring will be confirmed on the day.

Ring G Please present at the ring within the time of the Handy Pony Class you have entered. The ring will close at 3pm and results will be available from approximately 3.30pm.
Class 45 – Handy Pony 11-12.30 / Lead rein riders; equines any size!
Class 46 - Handy Pony 12.30 - 2 / Ponies 14.2hh and under.
Class 47 – Handy Horse 2 – 3pm / Over 14.2hh and includes Icelandics
Class Information:
1. / Entry fee £5.50 per class; First Aid cover is £1.50 per Rider.

2. / Entries on the day will be accepted for Classes 17– 24 only. Entry fee on the day £10 per class and accepted only if you and your pony/horse are entered into another class prior to the show; subject to space.
3. / Entries will be not be accepted once the class has started.
4. / In the interests of safety, classes will be capped at a maximum of 20 entrants per class (with the exception of Showjumping Classes 17-24). Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis. See Rule 16.
5. / CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES IS FRIDAY 8 JULY – ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE.
6. / Muirfield Riding Therapy reserves the right to amalgamate or split classes, depending on entry numbers.

Rules and Information for a Successful Day!

1. Rosettes awarded 1st to 6th place in each class. Annual trophies awarded to the winner of each class.

2. Handy Pony will be judged on performance.

3. No horse or pony may compete more than once in any class (Clear round excluded).

4. All competitors must have at least third party liability insurance.

5. All hats should conform to the most recent safety requirements. All hats must be correctly fastened when riders are

mounted. Random hat checks may be requested.

6. All children under 16 years of age must be under the supervision of a responsible adult.

7. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times.

8. All mess around trailers and lorries will be your responsibility to clear before you leave. Rubbish must be cleared up - organic and inorganic. Thank you!

9. A photographer will be on site to cover the event throughout the day. More details on the day of the show.

10. Hot and cold homemade food and drinks will be available to buy throughout the day!

11. All timings of classes are approximate and the Committee cannot accept responsibility for anyone missing his/her class or classes or entering the wrong class (Entry fees will not be refunded).

12. There will be a break in the Showjumping, Handy Pony and Working Hunter arenas at an appropriate point between classes to allow for the judges to have lunch.

13. The judge’s decision is final.

14. In the event of extreme weather conditions a recorded message will be available from 6am on the day of the show (telephone number 01620 842502) indicating if the show is to go ahead. Please note this is the only number that will be available. Showjumping plus a selection of other classes will go ahead in the indoor arena, regardless of the weather. Classes to go ahead in these circumstances will be identified in the telephone message. In the event of cancellation of the show, entry fees will be refunded less administration costs for all classes not being in the indoor arena.

15. There is a compulsory charge for first aid cover of £1.50 per rider.

16. In the interests of the safety of riders and their horses and ponies, classes will be capped at a maximum of 20 entrants with the exception of showjumping. Entries will be taken on a first come, first served basis. If entries for a particular class are received after the class has reached its maximum number of entrants, then the Secretary will contact you.

17. If you wish your entry to be acknowledged please enclose a SAE with your entry form. Thank you.

18. Classes may be split at the Judges’ discretion.

19. Equine passports for all visiting horses and ponies must be available for inspection. Spot checks may be carried out on the day of the show.
