Annual RI Adult Education Conference

October 1, 2015 at New England Tech !

Please consider submitting a proposal to share your program’s, learners’ or classroom’s best practices or new endeavors!

Knowing that we are entering a few years of change, as the statewide Unified Plan is being developed for WIOA, and the Adult Education RFP will subsequently be re-written at RIDE, we would like this conference to highlight the:

Present Practices That are Effective and Good: What’s working for you? For the learners? For your programs?

The new federal law (WIOA) does emphasize career pathways and employment, as well as technology rich learning environments, and Standards-based Curriculum…. but also required will be programs that are strong in: language acquisition programs for ESOL, reaching those with the lowest skill levels, and Transitions to College and Careers.

We encourage all of you who have materials, practices or research on any of these to consider submitting a proposal for the Fall Conference!

We seek proposals from you for workshops (demonstrations of teaching, use of materials, hands-on activities and discussions of particular topics), roundtables(discussions of issues of concern and interest) and/orpanels (more formal discussions involving 3 or 4 people and a moderator). Proposals are due by Monday April 27th, 2015 to Janet Isserlis at (401) 863-2839, or .If you would like to discuss your proposal prior to submission, please contact Janet before then.
