Welcome to the 2015 Little Mr. & Miss Lioness and Brooks High School Jr. & Sr. Lioness Pageant. We are looking for young ladies who are confident, personable, friendly, outgoing, and most importantly, a role model for other young ladies to look up to. We are excited that you have chosen to be a part of this program.

2015 LITTLE MR. LION & MISS LIONESS AND BHS JR. & SR. LIONESS PAGEANT

1 picture for $5 OR 3 pictures for $10 (sizes 5x7 or 8x10 only)

*(You will be required to submit a head shot for this portion of the pageant, which does NOT have to be professionally made. Pictures MUST have the participant’s name and age on the back of the picture/attached.)

T-Shirts will be available for purchase for $12. This amount must be paid at time of registration.

*Participants in grades 7-12 MUST purchase the t-shirt that will be worn in the Opening Number of the Pageant.

4 DIVISIONS IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

Division I ~ Little Lion (Boys 0-5 Years)

Division II ~ Baby Miss Lioness (0-23 Months)

Tiny Miss Lioness (2- 4 Years)

Little Miss Lioness (5-6 Years)

Petite Miss Lioness (7-9 Years)

Young Miss Lioness (10-12 Years)

All categories in Divisions I and II will compete in SUNDAY BEST dress only. Pageant dresses are not allowed. Easter dresses are allowed. It is highly recommended that contestants wear age appropriate attire.

Division III ~ 7th – 9th Grades (BHS Jr. Lioness)

This division is open only to girls enrolled in Grades 7th – 9th at Brooks High School.

BHS Jr. Lioness will compete in opening number & introduction (10%), casual wear (40%) and evening wear (50%). Pageant dresses are allowed in this division but not required. BHS Jr. Lioness contestants need to possess inner beauty and confidence….not an expensive gown. It is highly recommended that contestants wear age appropriate gowns/evening wear.

Division IV ~ 10th – 12th Grades (BHS Sr. Lioness)

This division is open only to girls enrolled in Grades 10th – 12th at Brooks High School.

BHS Sr. Lioness will compete in opening number & introduction (10%), casual wear (30%), evening wear (50%) and on-stage question (10%). BHS Sr. Lioness contestants need to possess inner beauty and confidence….not an expensive gown. It is highly recommended that contestants wear age appropriate gowns/evening wear.

No one other than contestants and official pageant personnel are allowed backstage at any time during the course of the pageant. ONE parent will be allowed backstage after the pageant once contestants have gotten their items together and are ready to leave.

Please be respectful of ALL contestants competing. No contestant should leave before the conclusion of the pageant.

NOTE: The Little Mr. Lion & Miss Lioness and BHS Jr. & Sr. Lioness Pageant reserves the right to change the divisions/categories if there is a need.

GUIDELINES FOR THE 2015

LITTLE MR. LION & MISS LIONESS AND BHS JR. & SR. LIONESS PAGEANT

  The pageant will be held in the Brooks High School Gymnasium (new gym).

  On the day of the pageant, the gymnasium will open at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

  Divisions I & II portion of the pageant will begin at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16.

  Divisions III & IV of the pageant will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 15.

  The price for admission will be $5 per guest. Children under age 5 admitted free.

  Practice for the Opening Number for participants in Divisions III-IV will be held the following dates:

May 11-13 (Monday-Wednesday) 3:15-4:30 upstairs in the Cheer Room of the Old Gym

  A practice walk-thru of the pageant will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 with the following schedule:

-3:00-5:00 Contestants in Divisions III-IV

-5:30-6:00 Contestants in Divisions I

-6:00- Contestants in Divisions II

  Contestant Numbers will be randomly drawn prior to the practice walk-thru. Numbers cannot be switched with other contestants. Contestants will be lined up in numerical order based on the number drawn.

  Each group will walk through in the order in which they will be presented on the evening of the pageant. Your child will only be allowed to practice with his/her age group/division and he/she may leave following his/her practice. We will only do the walk through one time.

  The CASUAL WEAR portion of the pageant will be held during the school day on Friday, May 15, at 9:00 a.m. This will be for Divisions III & IV only. Contestants should report to Mrs. Black’s room by 8:15 a.m. This phase of the pageant is designed for the contestants to present herself as a dynamic, contemporary, and beautiful young lady. This is an opportunity to see how the contestant can connect with the audience. Contestants should model a fun outfit that shows her personality and expresses her style and preference. Feel free to accessorize with hats, jewelry, belts, etc. No swimsuits or mid-riff revealing attire will be allowed. Remember age appropriate!

  Students will be allowed to attend this portion of the pageant at a cost of $3 each.

  The EVENING WEAR portion of the pageant is about elegance and grace. Keep in mind that it is YOU being judged. This will be a time for your stage presence to shine. Relax, be yourself and let your true beauty shine through. Let the audience see your self-confidence and poise and personality. Select a gown that you would feel comfortable wearing for an evening out on the town for a formal occasion. Make sure it fits properly. Remember you should wear it….it should not wear you. It doesn’t have to be beaded or expensive to look like a million bucks on you. Remember age appropriate attire!

  The ON-STAGE INTERVIEW portion of the pageant is for Division IV only (Grades 10-12). The judges will be looking for a candidate who can maintain her poise and grace in a stressful situation. Contestants will be provided with the question prior to the night of the pageant.

  The “MOST PHOTOGENIC” portion of the pageant is strictly optional. If you are participating in this portion of the pageant, please submit a 5x7 or 8X10 head shot no later than the night of the practice walk-through. The photo does NOT have to be professionally made.

  This portion of the pageant will be judged solely on the photo submitted.

  All contestants in Divisions I and II should report to the new classroom building at Brooks High School by 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 to sign in and get your number. (Numbers will be randomly drawn the night of the practice walk-thru and cannot be switched with other contestants.)

  All contestants in Divisions III and IV (7th-12th Grades) should report to the new classroom building by 5:15 p.m. on Friday, May 15 to sign in and get your number. (Numbers will be randomly drawn the night of the practice walk-thru and cannot be switched with other contestants.)

  It is our desire to create an environment that fosters friendly competition and fellowship with one another. Our goal is for each contestant to have a positive experience. Contestants, family members, and friends are expected to show good sportsmanship throughout the pageant (prior to and after the event). Contestants are to be of good moral character and must refrain from committing any act inconsistent with the highest standards of public morality. She should not make statements or act in any way that would reflect negatively upon the pageant. She must not have convicted any offense. Contestants will be held liable for slander of the Little Miss Lioness and BHS Jr. and BHS Sr. Lioness Pageant, other contestants, judges or any one affiliated with the pageant. Defamatory verbal and/or written remarks against the pageant will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of any awards. This shall include publicly posting slanderous remarks on public forums and/or social media.
