Annual Recital Update!
TIME TO MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
Welcome to the beginning of many annual recital updates! This is an exciting part of our dance year as we not only continue to focus on growing and progressing as dancers but later begin to prepare for our June 10th annual recital! Recital info will be updated continuously via e-mails, website, and studio fliers. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming up in 2017. Mark your calendars early and look for updates in the new year!
RECITAL DATE: Sat., June 10, 2017
TIME: 10:00 a.m.
Recital order, arrival and performance times will be posted in April.
LOCATION: El Campanil Theatre
602 W. 2nd, Antioch
MANDATORY DRESS REHEARSAL DATE: Sun., June 4, 2017
TIME: 12:00 – 8:00
Rehearsal schedule with each dancer’s exact rehearsal times will be posted in April. For example, if a dancer is in one dance number in the recital she/he will be required to be at dress rehearsal during a one-hour designated time only.
LOCATION: El Campanil Theatre
Students will practice their recital dance(s) on stage and in costume, giving them the invaluable opportunity to get used to the stage, get used to dancing in costume, and work out any dance and costume “kinks.” Parents and guardians, thank you for being responsible for your child(ren) during your dancer’s rehearsal time.
This is a MANDATORY REHEARSAL, excused for illness and emergency only. It is very important that our students experience dancing at the theatre prior to the recital. This rehearsal is highly instrumental in helping dancers feel comfortable and prepared for dancing on stage, as well as helping our show run smoothly and safely. If you dancer is not able to be at dress rehearsal and, therefore, not in the annual recital, thank you for letting us know before costume orders are made and recital preps begin.
COSTUME STATEMENTS: Costume statements will be going home with each child the week of Jan. 4.
COSTUME PAYMENTS: All costume payments are DUE NO LATER THAN SAT., JAN. 28th, noon. Costume payments must be received no later than the due date to insure that your child’s costume is ordered and received in time for the recital. Costumes are non-refundable for any reason, as costumes are made-to-order, non-returnable, and non-exchangeable.
PICTURE DAY DATE: Thur., June 8, 2017 @ CVDA
TIME: 3:30
Picture Day schedule with each class picture time will be posted in April.
Memory Makers will be in the studio to take both group and individual pictures in costume. Picture order forms will be available to you one week prior to picture day and must be turned in the day of pictures to the photographers. Please do not turn in picture forms to CVDA staff. You will be notified via e-mail when pictures are delivered to the studio for pick-up in June/July.
RECITAL FEE: $40.00/family = 3 tickets. Due: April 1. Additional tickets: pre-purchase $10.00; at-the-door $15.00; cash/check only. Recital fee may be paid online, as well as check/cash. Additional tickets – cash/check only in May and June. Recital fee reminder will be handed out in a few weeks. If you have to pull your dancer from the recital for any reason after recital fee has been paid, this fee is non-refundable.
RECITAL VIDEOS: You may take videos and pictures during dress rehearsal. During the recital, we ask that no videos or cameras be used in the auditorium. We really appreciate your cooperation in this matter, as videos and cameras can be very distracting and, therefore, unsafe to the dancers, as well as distracting to fellow audience members. A professional videographer will be recording the recital and making videos available for purchase. Order forms will be available in the studio in May. This is a recital memory you won’t want to pass up!
COSTUME DETAILS: Along with the costume, each class will be required to wear a specific color tights and shoes. This info will be posted once all costume orders have been placed.
E-MAILS: Many recital reminders, due dates, and vital info will be going out over the next few months. Thank you for opening and reading all CVDA e-mails and staying up-to-date on recital news! A recital handbook including ALL recital info and schedules will be sent home with each family in April.
RECITAL BOARD & WEBSITE: Look for all recital info, as it becomes available, on the bulletin board in the studio. All recital info will be posted throughout the remainder of the dance year on this board, as well as posted on the RECITAL page of our website.
