ANNUAL GIVING MANAGER
The Development Office at South Kent School works as a team with many shared responsibilities, including communication with alumni, current and past parents, grandparents, faculty and friends of the school; the organization and execution of the South Kent Fund drive each year; promotion of endowed funds and mailings to appropriate constituencies about these opportunities; Capital Campaign planning and communications; oversees and collaborates with the school’s Parent Committee.
The office also organizes events including Grandparent’s Day, Parents’ Weekend, Annual Auction,
Alumni Weekend, Golf Tournament; plans off-campus gatherings for alumni; hosts events for donors and informational gatherings about building projects or campaigns; and maintains the database of the school’s various constituents.
In addition to his/her involvement in these shared responsibilities, the Annual Giving Manager has specific responsibility to plan and coordinate:
Annual Giving Program
- Plan and execute an annual giving program, establishing strategies to meet and exceed Annual Fund goals while monitoring progress on an ongoing basis
- Manage comprehensive solicitation program, including analysis of year-to-year results. Design approaches based upon findings and segmentation
- Designs annual campaigns, with a focus on best practices. Coordinates with the Communications Coordinator the writing, design and printing of all campaign communications, digital or print.
- Recruits, trains and supports all annual giving volunteers
- Recruits, trains and supports parent volunteers for annual giving and assisting Parent Committee
- Create a reunion giving program
- Design and implement a comprehensive stewardship program, with a focus on personalized recognition of all major donors and development volunteers.
- Produce the Annual Report in conjunction with Communications and DOD
- Coordinate and solicit Senior Parent gift
- Ensure proper recording and acknowledgement of all gifts on a timely basis; coordinates the collection process for annual pledges and reports all results to DOD.
- Maintain an active visit list of prospects at the $1000+ level
- Conduct face-to-face solicitation/visits with constituents
- Cultivate relationships with prospects with goal of strengthening their bond and giving to SKS
- Document all activity in RE Database
Other Responsibilities
As a member of the Development Team, this position is responsible for a variety of tasks that will arise throughout the year, ranging from donor relations, to event planning, to mailings.
It is expected that every member of the Development Team will make him/herself available to complete needed tasks as they arise. Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends, and travel locally.
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4-6 years Independent School and fundraising experience(or Sales)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proficiency in constituent database programs, preferably Raiser’s Edge
- Dependability, punctuality
- Self-motivated, flexible, problem-solver and good work ethic
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as needed
- High energy level, enthusiastic, cooperative and committed to teamwork
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral required.
