  1. Welcome – Introductions – Apologies

As this meeting is an attempt to re-launch, the Artisans Dwellings TRA there was no set agenda. The meeting was opened by the LB Camden Officers present who confirmed that the meeting was quorate and moved to the election of TRA officers.

  • Secretary – James Tate
  • Treasurer –Roger Rear
  • The chair and secretary were nominated as the DMC rep and substitute rep respectively.
  • All residents present agreed to act as committee members for the TRA and share the workload as required.
  • The TRA agreed to continue with its existing constitution.
  1. Issues

The meeting agreed that the following list would be sent to the council identifying those issues of concern to the TRA.

1)Training for new TRA officers. Officers will liaise with Camden Tenant Participation (TP Team to arrange this.

2)How best to communicate with the council over resident issues e.g. cleaning and caretaking.

3)The poor state of repair of the buildings. This includes internal, external and communal areas and concerns issues such as painting, brickwork, windows etc..

4)The effectiveness – or lack of – of notices advising or prohibiting certain behaviour. The perception is that those who ignore them know there will be no action taken.

5)The disposal of household rubbish and cigarettes from tenants’ windows into the communal areas, especially at the back of the blocks.

6)Rubbish collection.

7)Contractors leaving the rear gates unlocked, including at weekends.

8)The state of repair of the front walls of the blocks.

9)Ongoing water issues – lack of pressure, colour of the water, risk of further leaks.

  1. Any other business
  • LB Camden employs a contractor, Peter Lush, to provide training for TRA officers and members. Training can be provided on all aspects of running a TRA, on a group or one-to-one basis. Ms Parveen-Cic will provide contact details.
  • Ms Parveen – Cic will provide a letter to the TRA which enables printing services at the library.
  • The relevant council officers for TRA concerns are listed below. The Council is obliged to reply to correspondence within 10 working days. Correspondents are advised to copy to the customer services email address and escalate up to the next person on the list if they don’t receive a reply;

  • The secretary will arrange a meeting with the chair, former chair and treasurer to amend the signatures on the bank account.
  • The secretary will submit all the necessary documents to the TP Team to register the TRA.
  • The chair, treasurer and a committee member will attend an inspection of the lifts with the Estates Services Manager when the lifts in 242 and 238 are complete.
