We are most grateful to the following for their support and sponsorship:
Durham University
Durham University is distinctive - a Collegiate University with ancient traditions and modern values. We seek to achieve the highest distinction in research and scholarship which make a real difference to societies world-wide. We are equally committed to excellence in all aspects of learning, education and the transmission of knowledge.
But Durham University is much more than that. The World Heritage Site at the heart of the City of Durham has been a leading centre of scholarship for over 1000 years, while our cosmopolitan Queen's Campus in Stockton is at the leading edge of Teesside's transition from an industrial to aknowledge economy.
Realising potential and delivering Higher Education without barriers
Durham University’s Foundation Centre offers specially tailored multi-disciplinary study programmes to prepare students for degree level study. The Foundation Centre specialises in helping mature learners return to education, supporting students who are changing between academic fields, and preparing international students who are unable to study to a sufficient level in their own country for direct entry to UK degree programmes. The Foundation Centre is an academic department that delivers courses to develop students’ learning skills and knowledge in preparation for degree level study at Durham University.

Durham Castleis part of the Durham World Heritage Site and a Grade 1 Listed Building. Dating from the 11th century, it was previously the chief residence of the Prince Bishops of Durham and as such played a significant role in the history of the United Kingdom. Bishop Van Mildert gave the Castle to the Universityat its foundation in 1832. Today it is home of University College, and a residence to many students. With the Cathedral, it is still very much an icon of the City and County of Durham.
