Announcements for Tuesday, April 182017 – “ADay”
I am a Beville Bobcat on the PROWL. I will show leadership every day as I choose to respect myself and others.
Reading Connections for today will be held in Creative Writing/World Languages. Don’t forget your book!
The Word of the Week is COMPREHEND.
Tonight is Spirit Night for Beville Middle School at the Chipotle located at 4269 Merchant Plaza across from the Chinn Center. Between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m. tonight, just mention to the cashier that your payment is in support of Beville Middle School, and a portion of the proceeds will be designated to the Beville PTSO. Enjoy your supper and enjoy knowing you’ve supported your school through this purchase. THANK YOU!
Students – please check the gym/locker room lost and found articles this week to see if anything belongs to you. The Lost and Found is overflowing, and the space capacity has been exhausted. Anything left in the Lost and Found at the end of this week will be donated to a local charity. Thank you in advance for checking.
An orientation for rising sixth graders will be held this Thursday, April 20, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Merrifield Café. If you know any current fifth graders who will be attending Beville Middle School next year, please let them know that an orientation will be held this coming Thursday. We look forward to seeing our future Bobcats, Thursday, April 20, at 7 p.m.
“Purple Up! For Military Kids” Day
Across the State, Friday, April 21, 2017, will be the day to “Purple Up! For Military Kids.” We encourage the entire school community – teachers, principals, students, parents, bus drivers, and staff to wear purple on April 21 to show support for our military students and appreciation for their strength and sacrifices. Purple represents the blending of the colors of the five branches of our armed forces. Here in Virginia, we are proud to be home to Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, National Guard and Reserve families. Let’s see a sea of purple on Friday, April 21!
The final tally is in and we are pleased to report that Pennies for Patients campaign for the 2016-17 school year brought in $2,032. Another solid performance. The winners of the fundraising competition are as follows:
Ms. Switzer qualified for the Gold Pennant.
Mrs. Mitchell and Mr. Dutton had a tough competition for the last pizza party, and Mrs. Mitchell won the party.
Mrs. Mitchell qualified for the Silver Pennant.
Mr. Dutton qualified for the Bronze Pennant.
Also, special thanks to Mrs. Blackford for having the second highest average per student raised.
Thanks again to all who participated/donated.
