Houston Executive Airport To Break Ground for
Henriksen Jet Center
Groundbreaking Ceremony Friday, June 8; 10 AM

BROOKSHIRE -- (May 29, 2007) – A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. June 8 as Houston Executive Airport moves toward completion of the new airport located west of Houston. The groundbreaking ceremony will mark the beginning of construction of Henriksen Jet Center, named for Houston Executive Airport owner, Ron Henriksen.

The ceremonial groundbreaking will formally open with remarks from airport owner Ron Henriksen and Andrew Perry, the airport’s Executive Director. The public is invited to attend.

After more than 2 years of planning and construction, Houston Executive Airport (HEA) opened for business in January 2007. Airport Executive Director, Andrew D. Perry, A.A.E., said the groundbreaking marks a significant step in completing another phase of the airport.

“We have been eagerly anticipating this day since we broke ground on the airport over 2 years ago,” said Perry. “Henriksen Jet Center has been thoughtfully and carefully planned to not only meet the needs of business travelers, but to exceed them. It will be the compelling reason Houston Executive Airport is poised to become the leader for business aviation.”

Henriksen Jet Center was designed by Hill Myers Architects and will be constructed by Tribble & Stephens Constructors. The 2-story, 48,000 sq. ft. structure will feature a 26,000 sq. ft. hangar, passenger lobby, pilot’s lounge, theater room, weather briefing room, airport and FBO operations offices. Henriksen Jet Center is expected to be completed in 2008.

Perry said Henriksen Jet Center will provide services such as aircraft fueling, ground handling operations, rental cars and other amenities. Chevron Global Aviation was named the airport’s fuel supplier. “We are poised to provide premium service for the business air traveler visiting West Houston,” he said.

Houston Executive Airport (HEA) is a private commercial development established by a former commercial pilot and Houston native, Ron Henriksen. HEA is located west of Houston in an area of rapid growth and business development. HEA will cater to business and general aviation aircraft. With an eye for coming growth, Henriksen has long-range plans for the airport’s runway to be extended to 7,600 feet to accommodate larger aircraft.
