- REGULAR STAFF – SENIOR NETWORK/SYSTEMS SPECIALIST – 1 Opening Library Headquarters – Information Technology Division
- Grade 18MB – 40 hour/week
- Salary Range: $55,972 - $96,880 Excellent benefits package includes eligibility to earn up to 4 weeks of annual leave, starting with first year of employment.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of computers and computer applications normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in computer science or related area and at least one year of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training that has provided the knowledge, abilities, and skills listed in the job description.
- RESPONSIBILITIES: This is highly skilled, technical and professional work in the management, design, development, operation and maintenance of the Library's network systems. The Senior Network Specialist is responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the library’s network server hardware, network infrastructure, network security and network operating systems. Responsibilities include supporting the Library Hardware/Software Specialists in the maintenance of the Library's desktop infrastructure, and the operation and maintenance of the network in support of the desktop configurations, and the support of enterprise and productivityapplications.
- Requires knowledge of and demonstrated ability to work with: the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking; a practical level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP,; working knowledge of common network administration, monitoring, and security utilities; knowledge of Microsoft operating systems to include Windows 2008/2003 Servers, Windows 7, XP & 2000; thorough knowledge of the LAMP web stack; Linux, Apache, PhP applications; demonstrated ability to implement and maintain computer networks; knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity applications.
