Andersen Elementary Friday E-Folder

May 31st, 2013

Welcome! The Andersen Friday E-Folder will contain important information for all families throughout the school year. Please check with your friends and neighbors to ensure that every Andersen Elementary family is receiving this e-mail.

Dear Andersen Families,

I would like to thank Sheila Folden, Andersen’s physical education teacher, and all of our school volunteers for making field day a wonderful experience for our students. All of the students were smiling and tired by the end of the day. I would like to also thank Lee Eisenberg and Caley Erban for starting a school store this year. The students enjoyed working at the store and many skills were mastered. Finally, I would like to thank Kate Williamson, Laurel Avery, Jennifer Mankowski and Lillian Eldred for providing an outstanding kindergarten musical program this past week. Kindergarten is a magical time for our students and its amazing to see the students grow throughout the school year.

I can’t believe we have one more week of school left! It has been such an enjoyable experience and privilege for me to be able to work with the students, staff and families at Andersen this year. This is a special community and I am proud to be a part of it.

Your Partner in Education,

Malinda Lansfeldt

Principal

Congratulations to our Retiring Staff

From the entire Andersen Elementary community, we would like to wish “Happy Retirement” to the following staff members who are starting a new adventure in their lives next fall: Mary Ostertag, Carolyn Hild and Kathy Carlson. Thank you for your dedication and years of service in helping hundreds of students become better people. You made a difference!!!

Bracelets for Kendra

Kendra Tatro, a kindergarten student at Andersen Elementary, was diagnosed with Leukemia just a month before her 6th birthday. She loves to dance, play tee-ball and has an amazing smile and bubbly personality. Kendra’s family, along with the Andersen Parent group, has decided to partner up and help her fight the battle. Although Kendra is doing the hard part, we would like to help support her and her family. The Andersen Parent Group will have a table set up next week starting on Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 7 from 8:15 am to 8:45 am to sell bracelets in support of Kendra. The bracelets state “Kendra’s Team” and they change from dark purple to bright pink. The bracelets cost $2.00 each and all of the proceeds will go to the Tatro family. Thank you in advance for your support!
