General Tour rules
1: Riders must complete each stage to be eligible to progress thru and compete in the tour
Exceptions may be granted by the Chief Commissaire in consultation with the Race Organiser. In most cases this will only be in the event of a mechanical that could not be rectified on the road during a stage by a service vehicle.
2: Any rider voluntarily withdrawing during a stage will be withdrawn from the Tour
3: Subsequent withdrawals should be made at sign on to the next stage.
4: Any rider who suffers a mishap and fails to complete a stage ,yet, is reinstated to the tour will carry with them the finished stage time of the slowest rider of the stage in which they withdrew.
5; Any outside race assistance to riders during a stage will in most cases disqualify the rider from any continuation within the tour.
6; Bunch time at the conclusion of stages is awarded to riders that finish within 1 sec of each other. Should a clear second appear the next bunch time commences and so on with each riders time being carried thru on the GC Result.
Criterium Guidelines
Riders lapped or deemed to be positioned that lapping will occur will be requested to leave the race.
Each rider requested to do so will be allocated a finish time to enable them to compete in the following stage.
Only riders officially pulled during the stage will be allowed to continue thru to the next stage.
In the advent of a crash or mechanical, affected riders will be afforded 1 lap out. Those riders will re-enter the race or be withdrawn at the discretion and upon instruction by commissaire controlling the tech zone. There will be two tech zones provided.
Time Trail Guidelines
Sign on is not necessary for the TT how ever riders must present themselves no less than 5 minutes prior to roll out and start.
Commissaires have strategies in place should mechanical situations arise.
CNZ/UCI rules apply to riders that appear late to roll out and hence late to their start.
Penalties
Failure to wear appropriately placed numbers 10 seconds.
Failure of a rider to sign on prior to the start 20 seconds. Riders may not appoint a representative to sign on.
On the road indiscretions that are hazardous/unsportsmanlike or in clear breach of CNZ/UCI rules will carry a penalty as deemed appropriate by the Commissaires panel. No discussion will be entered into once the penalty is invoked.
Stage results and time bonuses where applicable will be awarded with the penalty subsequently invoked (prize money if applicable will be withdrawn).
Important Note
Failure to have no understanding of the above will not grant reinstatement of riders.
All riders/parents/managers have the opportunity to clarify any of these points during the managers meeting prior to the commencement of the tour. Commissaries and the Tour director are to be approached at all times in a calm and courteous manner.
