Once upon a time in the days round Christmas in a small village in the Scottish Highlands there was a poor cobbler. In his tiny workshop he make and repair the shoes of all the villagers as good as he could. He was well-loved and everyone think respectful of him. At the end of a busy day he usual count the money he had earned. Then he careful hide it under the floorboards, so that absolute nobody would find out that he had secret been save money for a rainy day.

One day the innkeeper son pass along the village’s mainstreet. He carry Mondays laundry in a big bag over his shoulder and whistle a song. When passing the cobblers’ workshop his eyes were sudden catch by something strange. The cobbler lie face down on the floor and move not ! The boy know not what it mean and go in quick to see what was wrong.

“Oh master, what happen!” he cry. He bend down to have a close look. At that moment the cobbler slow lift his head and say calm: “Worry not, my dear Angus. I had just lie down on the floor to have a five minutes rest. I must be enormous tired, because I almost immediate fall asleep.”

“Oh thank goodness for that”, Angus exclaim happy. “I near think that someone have knock you over the head and steal the terrible precious gold you saving for so long!”
