$1,000 Scholarship
Requirements for Application
1. Applicant must be of full or partial Slovak descent.
2. Applicant or nominator must be an ASCA member in good standing for the past 2 years.
3. Applicant must be accepted and entering into, or currently enrolled, in an accredited institute of higher learning capable of granting an associate, bachelors, or postgraduate degree or their equivalent.
4. Applicant must submit a copy of his/her college transcripts or in the case of an incoming or current freshman his/her high school transcript.
5. Applicant must submit one letter of recommendation from a non- relative.
6. The application form, letter of recommendation, response to both essay questions and the applicant’s college or high school transcripts must be returned in the same envelope postmarked no later than September 30.
7. The scholarship will be awarded based on academic promise, quality and substance of written essays, personal recommendation and financial need of the applicant.
8. Scholarship committee will have the final say on eligibility.
9. The winning applicant may receive the ASCA Scholarship one time only.
10. The scholarship winner will be notified by November 1. The winner will be requested to attend the ASCA Vilija Dinner where he/she will be honored and introduced to our membership at that time. The Vilija Dinner is held the second Sunday in December.
