State The Topic & Why This Presentation Is Needed?
EVIDENCE BASED REASONS SHOWING WHY YOUR TOPIC IS NEEDED – Based on research, national, regional or school site data (Attendance, College Completion, Student/Alumni survey results, Student feedback, etc.)
The Career Interest Profiler gives students an assessment in which they receive results based on each individual’s personal interests. From these results, student can look into careers that match their likes/dislikes, and the colleges that offer such programs that support these careers. Students can learn about the preparation needed for their matching careers and all that the actual career entails
Although 9th grade students may not know exactly what they want to do in their futures, let alone where they want to go to college, this Career Profiler will begin to at least get students thinking about possibilities.
Research shows that students that have a goal and steps to reach these goals are more likely to do so than those who may not. This presentation will allow for communication between counselor and students as a starting point when discussing college and career goals.
