Middle School Staff Retirement

We would like to congratulate our educational aide Mrs. Linda Zelms, who officially retired on Friday, May 27th at the Danbury Teacher/Staff Luncheon. We greatly appreciate all of her years of service to Danbury and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors!

2016-2017 Back To School Night

The district-wide “Back To School Night” for the 2016-2017 school year has been set for Thursday, September 1st. The open house will be held from 5-7 p.m. and the “meet the team activities” will begin at 7 p.m. in the football stadium. Student schedules will be available to all middle school students at the open house.

Attention 6th Grade Parents

The Ohio Department of Health requires that all students entering the 7th grade must have a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) booster shot. In addition to the Tdap booster shot, the Ohio Department of Health has issued a new immunization requirement beginning with the 2016-2017 school year to prevent meningococcal disease. All pupils entering the 7th and 12th grade are required to be vaccinated against meningococcal disease (serogroups A, C, W, and Y). One dose is required for entry into 7th grade, in addition to the Tdap booster shot that is already required. Two doses are required for entry into 12th grade, the second dose must be at least 8 weeks after the first dose. Please provide documentation of these vaccinations by the 14th day of school or your student may be excluded from the classroom. Please make your appointments now to avoid the fall rush. Ottawa County Recycling Billboard Competition

Congratulations to 5th grade student Aspen White whose billboard design was selected as a winner for the 2016 Ottawa County recycling billboard competition. Her design was on display during the month of April on State Route 2 between the State Route Exits of 269 and 53. Congratulations to Aspen on a job well done!

Summer School (Grades 5-8)

Students who qualified for summer school are reminded that the first day of class is Monday, June 13th at 8:00 a.m. and we will meet in the cafeteria on the first day. Summer school will be held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. from June 13th through July 21st. If your child did not qualify for summer school, but you would like them to be enrolled for extra intervention, please contact Mr. Miller in the middle school office.
