AFM PRODUCER SCREENINGS

Program Offers Independent Producers Seeking Worldwide Sales Representation Access To Distributors

SANTA MONICA, CA, December 31, 2003 – The American Film Market will offer independent producers seeking worldwide sales representation an opportunity to expose their films to distributors during the second annual AFM Producer Screenings, it was announced today by Jonathan Wolf, managing director of the AFM and executive vice president of AFMA. The screenings will be held on the final two days of the market, Tuesday 2 March and Wednesday 3 March, at a Santa Monica-based multiplex.

"The AFM Producer Screenings demonstrate AFMA’s continuing commitment to making available a global audience to films produced outside the studio system," said Mr. Wolf. "It’s a unique opportunity for independent producers to present their just completed films at the world’s largest gathering of acquisition executives."

Up to 16 films from 16 different producers will be screened - providing an opportunity to reach more than 250 distributors. The screenings will be private - only distributors and sales agents with offices at the AFM will have access. Territorial buyers and the press will not be admitted.

Qualifying entries must be at least 80 minutes in length, available to screen on 35mm or 70mm, produced in either 2003 or 2004 with a minimum budget of $250,000. Films will be accepted in any language. There is no submission fee, however, selected films will be charged a screening fee of $2,200 which includes two full-market AFM badges and various other services designed to promote the film during the market.

The deadline for submission is January 16 and applications are available at www.americanfilmmarket.com in the "About AFM" section.
