Welcome & Meeting Called to Order – AABE IN Chap President, Mike Suggs

  • President’s Report

o  2011 National Conference –

  • Theme: “Our Energy, Our Future: Creating Sustainable Communities”
  • Location: Hyatt, Jersey City, New Jersey
  • Date: April 27th – 29th and Pre-Conference Forum (April 26th)
  • To date 5 members of the IN chapter are registered

·  Many others are planning to attend

·  Be mindful of Advance Registration deadline – 03/23/11

  • Robert Skaggs of NiSource will be on panel
  • Treasurer’s Report –

o  Nipsco Donated $3,000 toward scholarships

  • Membership Report – Eddie Harris, membership chair

o  Presented revised report

  • Informed of members listed in active and in pending status
  • Will contact LaKeisha of National to gain clarity on the process used to determine membership status…IE..pending, active, etc.
  • Committee Updates –

o  Girls INC

  • Seeking volunteers for upcoming lunch bunch April 1st – 3rd.

·  Many attended the last lunch bunch held at Paramount School of Excellence.

o  Fundraising & Scholarship Committee

  • 2011 AABE Scholarship Application deadline was 03/11/2011

·  5 applications received and reviewed

·  3 applications selected

o  Awarding TBD

  • Care packages are being considered for students who are children of members and possibly for applicants who are not selected as a scholarship recipient
  • Scholarship Fundraiser, “Games People Play” tonight at Covington Cove Clubhouse

·  Come out and have fun while donating to our future.
