Dear Parents /Carers

We hope you have had a very peaceful festive season and wish you all the best for the New Year. The children have come back into Nursery looking very happy and relaxed which is pleasing to see.

As you will know Miss Hill has been poorly and absent from school for some time and has now made the decision to leave. Since she has been away the children have been taught and supported by our wonderful team of:

Ø  Mrs Buckley

Miss Sheldrick, our Early Years Lead, continues to support and manage Nursery and has been monitoring the provision for all pupils alongside myself.

I would just like to reassure you that this will continue to be the case and that we are all working together to make sure that your children are very well cared for and are making good progress. We shall be holding another Parents’ Consultation day this term so that you can discuss your child’s progress with Mrs Ray and Miss Sheldrick; we will send out information for that soon. However, if you need to get an update on your child’s progress, please do contact Mrs Ray or Miss Sheldrick who will arrange this.

We have very recently purchased a lot of new resources for the children and they are enjoying playing with the new toys as well as accessing new books and furniture too. We shall be starting to hold ‘Woodland Wednesdays’ after half-term and will send out some information nearer the time, about how you can get more involved with your child’s learning at these sessions.

Please be aware that you should all have received an application pack from the Local Authority to apply for a Reception place for your child in a school of your choice for September 2017; if you have not received this, then please access the information on the Derby City website urgently as deadlines are fast approaching for final applications.
