Alumni Association Student Membership

The NEIU Alumni Association is now extending membership to current Northeastern students who have achieved second semester freshman, sophomore, junior or first semester senior status, as well as all second semester transfer students. Student members receive the same Blue & Gold level benefits, in addition to various other professional development experiences on campus and with our alumni community of over 75,000 members.They may also serve as NEIUAA student representatives at events.

Student Membership Requirements

  1. Status: Must be current Northeastern students who have achieved second semester freshman, sophomore, junior or first semester senior status, or second semester transfer students.
  2. Student Engagement

NEIUAA Student Membership is free, but requires student engagement in a minimum of three (3) activities per semester. Engagement opportunities may include, but are not limited to, holding student leadership positions, volunteering with the Office of Alumni Relations, participating in service projects, managing the Class Gift Campaign and MUCH more.

  1. Alumni Association Student Application (2 parts)
  • Pick up or download an application from the Office of Alumni Relations ( Complete application and submit to the Office of Alumni Relations. Upon receipt of the application, an appointment will be scheduled by the staff of Alumni Relations to review scheduled programs with the student and confirm number of hours that the student will commit to the program. Each participation activity must be signed off by the administrative/faculty member who is running it to verify participation. At this point, the student is considered a Student Member of the NEIU Alumni Association and granted all privileges at the upgraded Blue and Gold membership level.
  • An overview of the additional components of the program (researching an internship, discussing options with a faculty advisor and/or the Career Development Center staff) is recommended while the candidate is completing the NEIU Alumni Association participation component. A second appointment to go over program requirements for the Internship/Scholarship application is scheduled with both the Career Development Center and Alumni Relations staff.
  1. Internship/Scholarship Application

Pick up an application from Michelle Morrow, Director Scholarships Office. Complete the application (along with collateral materials requested – internship proposal as approved by a faculty advisor and/or Career Development Center staff) and return it to the Scholarships Office. Upon receipt of the Scholarship application, the NEIUAA Student Application and Internship program information, the NEIUAA Scholarship Application and collateral materials will be reviewed by committee to award the scholarship for the following semester to be paid in two installments.
