Class of 2018

Only potential 2018 graduates will be able to order a gown in order to walk across the stage at the Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, June 28, 2018.

All of the following requirements must be met to be considered a potential grad:

  • You must have earned a minimum of 26 credits by end of semester 1.
  • You must be scheduled to take the remaining courses needed to complete the 18 compulsory credits and the 12 optional credits for a total of 30 credits by mid-term semester 2.
  • You must have submitted documentation of 40 hours of community volunteer activities by March 20th, 2018.
  • You must have successfully completed the Provincial Secondary School Literacy Requirement or be scheduled to take the literacy test or the literacy course.

We are very proud of the commencement we are able to provide for the Saltfleet community. To run such an event takes countless hours and volunteers as well as some funds. As a result there is a fee attached of $40 which covers the expenses of: graduation breakfast, gown purchase, cap and tassel, graduation program, tickets and invitation, flowers for the ceremony, music for the ceremony, ceremony facility rental, post-ceremony reception and postage. Class of 2018 Checklist

1 / Order Grad Gown & pay Graduation Fee / Due: April 20 / No extra gowns will be ordered.
A gown must be worn in order to walk across the stage. $40 fee payable via school cash online must be submittedby the due date or students will be charged a $10 late fee.Gowns will not be sold to students who have not completed their 40 hours of Community Involvement.
2 / Community Awards and Scholarships / Due: April 20 / Scholarship Profile forms are available through the school website, Student Services tab.
3 / 40 hours of Community Involvement / Due: March 20 / All completed volunteer hours sheets must be submitted to the Guidance Office.
4 / Valedictorian Nominations / Due: April 20 / Nomination forms are available on the school website.
5 / Ticket sales
forGrad Dinner-Dance / May 1-12 / Tickets will be sold for $60via the online cash system.
6 / Grad Breakfast / May 25 / Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria for all potential 2017 graduates.
7 / Valedictorian Election / May 25 / Voting will take place duringGrad Breakfast.
8 / Graduation
Dinner-Dance / May 25 / Graduation Dinner-Dance will be held at
Liuna Station.
9 / Commencement Ceremony / Thursday, June 28th, 4:00pm / To be held at the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre, Mohawk College.Each graduate will receive a minimum of 2 tickets for guests to attend. No additional tickets or swaps are available through the school. Potential Graduates should arrive dressed in their gown and report to the auditorium no later than 3:15 pm.
