“Martin Luther King Holiday Celebration”

The King George Parks and Recreation, King George/Westmoreland Deacon Ministry and the King George Chapter of the NAACP proudly announces, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Celebration “Living the Dream”, Monday, January 19, 2015, at King George Middle School with doors opening at 10am, open to all ages. We cordially invite everyone to participate in this celebration which consists of a march, theme presentation, videos, exhibits,free throw and three on three contest, food, fun and fellowship for all ages. The Free Throw contest is for boys and girls, ages 6-9 and 10-12. The Three-O-Three contest is for ages 13 to 18 (13 to 18). All participants name, age, and gender must appear in the signup sheet. On-site registration will be from10am -10:45am, for the contests.

Do not call the radio stations for cancellations. If weather conditions are questionable and you do not hear a cancellation announcement, you should report for your game or practice.

  • Games may be rescheduled if there is a conflict with a school use
  • Where safety is of concern, games will be called by the Basketball Program Supervisor - if you feel the conditions are unsafe, you should remove your child
  • Basketball Program Supervisors have the right to remove spectators for disruptive behavior to include cursing, being obnoxious, etc.
  • Any spectator walking onto the playing field during the games will automatically stop the game and individuals will be escorted out of the area and asked to leave the property
  • All games will start on time, games will not be held up because of waiting for players
  • In the event officials are not at your game, coaches may work together to play or have the game rescheduled
