TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Item Descriptions

These terms and conditions govern your use of the A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials, A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials, and associated websites, including the A+ Computer Science Practice Site.

For these terms a “User” is a teacher that works for a school or school district which has purchased licenses to an item or items for a set period of time. A user also may be a student using the A+ Practice Site under the guidance of a teacher.

For these terms, a “License” grants a licensee access to an item or items for a specified period of time. The license grants use of an item or item but does not grant ownership of the item or items to the user or licensee. The item or items may only be used by users at the campus to which the license was granted.

For these terms, a “Licensee” is school or school district which has been granted a license to use an item or items by processing an order and paying the appropriate licensing fees for the item or items for a set period of time. The licensee must adhere to all terms relating to the use of said item or items and must ensure that all of its users adhere to all terms as well.

For these terms, “A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials” refers to all downloadable digital curriculum materials, including labs, quizzes, tests, slides, worksheets, examples, and solutions.

For these terms, “A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials” refers to all downloadable digital contest preparation and hosting materials, including practice written tests, review question banks, programming problems, and solutions.

For these terms, “A+ Computer Science Practice Site” refers to the A+ website loaded with live programming problems. This website can be used by teachers and students to practice solving programming problems.

Acceptable Use

Unless otherwise stated, A+ Computer Science owns the intellectual property rights to all A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials, A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials, and content posted on all A+ Computer Science sites. Subject to the license below, all these intellectual property rights are reserved.

A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials are downloadable digital materials that can be used by a user / licensee for face to face teaching in a classroom and / or loaded into an online course management system managed and owned by the user / licensee. Only teachers are allowed to login and download A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials. Students are NOT allowed to login and download any A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials.

A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials are downloadable digital materials that can be used by a user / licensee for face to face teaching in a classroom and / or loaded into an online course management system managed and owned by the user / licensee. . Only teachers are allowed to login and download A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials. Students are NOT allowed to login and download any A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials.

The A+ Computer Science Practice Site can be used by students with teacher permission and guidance. Students are allowed to create accounts to use the A+ Computer Science Practice Site. Student usernames should be created by the guiding teacher and should not contain any real student information.

A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials and/or A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials may be used and posted digitally in online course management systems as long as those systems have password protected access for all users.

You must not:

·  republish downloaded materials or samples from the A+ website (including republication on another website);

·  sell, rent or sub-license downloaded materials or samples from the A+ website;

·  show any downloaded material or samples from the A+ website in public without first requesting permission;

·  reproduce, duplicate, copy or otherwise exploit downloaded materials or samples from the A+ website for a commercial purpose;

·  redistribute material except for content specifically and expressly made available for redistribution

By using any of the A+ Computer Science materials and/or associated websites, you accept these terms and conditions in full. If you disagree with these terms and conditions or any part of these terms and conditions, you must not use any A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials, A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials, or associated websites, including the A+ Computer Science Practice Site.


Licenses

All A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials and/or A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation are licensed to a school or school district. Licenses may be purchased for use on a single school campus or on multiple school campuses. Single school and multi-school licenses can be purchased.

All users working for a licensee with a valid license may use all of the licensed materials. Materials may not be shared between campuses unless all campuses have valid licenses.

A+ Computer Science Curriculum materials can be licensed for use on a single campus or on multiple campuses in increments of 1 year or 3 years.

A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials can be licensed for use on a single campus or on multiple campuses in increments of 1 year or 3 years.

The A+ Computer Science Practice Site is an OPTIONAL license. The A+ Computer Science Practice Site is NOT required to use the A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials and/or the A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials. The A+ Computer Science Practice Site can be licensed in yearly increments. An A+ Computer Science Practice Site license is required for full access to the live programming problems posted on the A+ Computer Science Practice Site.

A licensee with a valid site license may edit and modify specifically approved materials for campus site use only. A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials and A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials may not be shared between user campus sites unless all involved campus sites have a valid campus site license to use the materials.

A user working for a licensee with a valid site license may also use A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials and/or A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials in online course management systems as long as those course management systems have password protected access for all users.

Licenses start on June 1st and expire on May 30th unless specific start and end dates are requested in writing.

Licenses must be renewed in order to maintain access to new materials and for continued access to the A+ practice site.

Contact A+ Computer Science immediately if you have questions regarding licensing and limitations.

Unacceptable use

Users must not use any of the A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials, A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials, or associated websites in any way that causes, or may cause, damage to any materials or associated websites or impairment of the availability or accessibility of the materials or associated websites; or in any way which is unlawful, illegal, fraudulent or harmful, or in connection with any unlawful, illegal, fraudulent or harmful purpose or activity.

Users must not use any of the A+ Computer Science websites to copy, store, host, transmit, send, use, publish or distribute any material which consists of (or is linked to) any spyware, computer virus, Trojan horse, worm, keystroke logger, rootkit or other malicious computer software.

Users must not conduct any systematic or automated data collection activities (including without limitation scraping, data mining, data extraction and data harvesting) on or in relation to any A+ website without A+ Computer Science express written consent.

Users must not use any of the A+ Computer Science websites to transmit or send unsolicited commercial communications.

Users must not use any of the A+ Computer Science websites for any purposes related to marketing without A+ Computer Science’s express written consent.

Restricted access

Access to download A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials and/or A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation for face to face teaching materials is limited to teachers with valid licenses only. A+ Computer Science reserves the right to restrict access to any area of any of the A+ Computer Science websites, or indeed to all websites, at A+ Computer Science’s discretion.

If A+ Computer Science provides a user with a user ID and password to enable that user to access restricted areas of this website or other content or services, that user ensure that the user ID and password are kept confidential. Users are required to notify A+ Computer Science immediately if and when a user becomes aware that a user ID and / or password has been obtained or used by anyone other than yourself.

A+ Computer Science may disable your user ID and password in A+ Computer Science’s sole discretion without notice or explanation.

User content / Privacy

Use of A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials does NOT require student logins or access to any private student information. Teachers may request a login account in order to download current materials and updates. Teacher login accounts are provided as a courtesy. Teacher login accounts require a username and password only. Only teachers with a valid license can login, access, and download A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials. Materials are also shipped on USB for those districts / counties that prefer not to download the materials

Use of A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials does NOT require student logins or access to any private student information. Teachers may request a login account in order to download current materials and updates. Teacher login accounts are provided as a courtesy. Teacher login accounts require a username and password only. Only teachers with a valid license can login, access, and download A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation Materials.

Use of the Optional A+ Computer Science Practice Site requires student accounts. Each account requires the student provide a unique ID / username and password linked to a valid teacher email address. Teachers should provide login names for students in order to keep actual student information private. Student usernames / IDs do not require real authentic student information. Each teacher may create and assign usernames / Ids as he or she deems appropriate to track student progress. Student account IDs can include any words, symbols, or numbers chosen by the student and/or provided by the teacher.
Teacher login accounts can be created upon request using any provided username information. Teachers may prefer to include email addresses for their username. Teacher account login information is stored in order for teachers to login and download materials. Only teachers can login and download A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials and/or A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation face to face teaching materials. Students may NOT login and access any A+ Computer Science Curriculum Materials and/or A+ Computer Science Contest Preparation face to face teaching materials.
