Succulents and air plants are all the rage these days. Come learn how to plant and care for these awesome plants and watch our experts demonstrate creative ways to display them. There are many different and unique ways these can be used for interior decorating. We encourage you to think outside the “container”.

Come discover why terrariums are growing so popular and how they are a great way to get kids excited about gardening. A simple glass container can be transformed into a self sustained tropical oasis! Learn how to properly put together a glass terrarium that creates a perfect growing environment for plants, and adds life to your office desk, the nook in your kitchen or a child’s room.

5:00 pm / Hanging Basket Workshop
Cost: $50 per basket, everything is included
Break away from winter and come plant your very own custom hanging basket in the greenhouse! We will be planting baby plants in your hanging basket. Then DTE will care for your baskets until they are ready to go outside. You’ll be able to pick up your baskets in May to take home and enjoy. You’re welcome to stop in and check on their status as they grow.

Love the look of indoor plants but not sure how to keep them thriving? We can help! This class will cover what plants work in which environments, how to care for them, and even how to transplant. A must attend class for anyone with indoor plants!

New to growing your own food? This class is for you. Everything from planning the layout of your garden or container to what to plant and when. We will also cover companion plants andharvesting. Growing your own food is a much healthier way to live. Find out how to get started at this class.

Personally design your very own hanging basket. We will walk through the greenhouse to choose and pick out plants that will fit your specific sun/shade needs and fill out your basket. Then you’ll get to plant your basket and take it home with you to enjoy all season long.

Discover how to create porch pots that are sure to dazzle! Learn the basics of how to design and plant annual containers using three types of plants that perform different functions but work in harmony to create unique & luscious porch pots.

This will be a beginner’s class on how to plan, layout, and install your own landscaping designs. If you are wondering where to start, we can help. Then look forward to landscape 201 – a must attend!

We will cover additional landscape design principles including: foundation plantings, edging installation, and the pros and cons of using mulch vs. rock. We will also go over how to determine what type of soil you have, provide tips on what plants to use, how to plant, and how to incorporate boulders into your design.

A forum for all bird and butterfly lovers! We’ll talk briefly about plants, trees and shrubs that help attract our beloved winged creatures and then open up to questions and discussion. Bring your stories and pictures!

Cost: $25/per centerpiece
Take your Fall Season decorating to a whole new level! These new centerpieces are all the rage on Pinterest! All you need is a few live succulent cuttings, some fun seasonal decorations or fabric, a pumpkin and some hot glue. Your creation can then be planted in a pot once the pumpkin is past its prime.
