We suggest you arrive early to guarantee admission. Doors will close and a sign will be posted on the door to the Children’s Learning Center when maximum capacity for each program has been reached. Programs begin on time.

From Page to Stage – 2:00 pm - Kids will have the opportunity to develop their own scripts from various writing and acting exercises, then cast their plays using fellow participants as their actors. For kids in grades 3-6. Drop in.

Summer Reading Club – Win prizes for reading! Pick up a summer reading log in the Children’s Department and keep track of the minutes you read. For every two hours you read or have been read to, you win a free book and a chance to win a bicycle or a $50 Barnes & Noble gift certificate. (Maximum 10 free books per child.) First 100 people to sign up get a t-shirt! For children ages 0-12.

Roll Over and Read! – 11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Elementary age kids can read to specially trained dogs. Bring your own book or read one of ours. For kids entering grades K-6. Drop in.

Summer Party! – 1:00 pm – Squiggles, Wiggles and Giggles comic concert by David C. Perry. Music, movement and vibrant visuals plus a healthy helping of laughs! For ages 4 and up. At 2:00, David will draw caricatures for $5 each.

All-Star Stories – 6:30 pm – Make summer reading fun! We’ll read a story that you can count toward your school (and library) summer reading requirement, then do some cool activities related to the book—crafts, experiments, games, and more! For kids entering K-2nd grades. Class limited to 20. Drop in. (No class July 4.)

Leaping Lizards! – 10:30 am – Fun with stories, songs and movement for the older toddler and preschool child. Ages 3-1/2 -5 years with a caregiver. Drop in.

Crafternoon – 3:00 pm – Are you super creative? Come in for some spectacular crafts, including string art, t-shirt crafts, weaving, and more! For kids entering grades 1-6. Class limited to 20. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

RoboCode – 6:00 pm – Hands-on learning with some of the hottest technology! Using our new iPad apps and robots Dash and Dot, kids will learn to code through fun projects and puzzles. Class size limited to 18. For kids entering grades 3-6.

Baby Lap Rap – 10:30 am - Simple stories, songs, rhymes and fingerplays for your baby and you! Ages 0-24 months with a caregiver. Drop in.

LEGO + - 3:00 pm - Create and build using a variety of great materials for the budding engineer: LEGO, K’Nex, Straws & Connectors, and more! For children entering grades K-6—children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Drop in.

Wiggles & Giggles – 10:30 am – A high-energy storytime for toddlers and young preschoolers. Stories, songs, dance, and games for active toddlers and early preschoolers. Ages 2-4 with a caregiver. Drop in.

Sew Awesome – 3:00 pm - Learn basic hand and machine sewing techniques and work on a new project, or dream up your own creation! A parent-signed release form is required to register. Class size is limited to 12 participants. For children entering grades 3-6.

Mini Theater Workshop – 1:00 pm – A 3-day theater and performance workshop with Miss Tiffany. You must be able to attend all 3 days. For kids entering grades 3-6. Registration required.
