b) to provide for the people of Bristol the opportunity to take part in healthy water sport activity.

We currently provide Dinghy Sailing, Paddle Sports, Fixed Seat Rowing, Power Boating, Accessible Boat Trips, Boat Building and Repair tuition and Indoor Rowing training and competitions

Sport England Community Sport Activation Fund

All-Aboard Bristol is set to help more local people get into sport thanks to £89,944 of National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Community Sport Activation Fund.

All-Aboard! Watersports is among 88 projects nationally to receive a share of £15 million of funding to support grassroots sport activity. In the south west, it is only one of three successful projects in Round 3.

The All-Aboard! Bristol project was set up by All-Aboard Watersports Centre in partnership with the Royal Yachting Association, Canoe England, British Rowing, LinkAge and Bristol City Council, in response to a need for more accessible opportunities to row, sail, canoe or power boat for families and older people aged 55+.

The funding will allow the centre to develop a new programme designed to encourage older people and families from targeted disadvantaged communities to try a new sport. Weekly 'come and try' sessions will be offered at little or no cost on Sundays and Wednesdays over the next year.

Geof Lane, All-Aboard! Watersports RYA Principal said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive funding from the Community Sport Activation Fund. It will allow us to develop our activity provision for families and older people. We offer a selection of exciting water based sports such as sailing, canoeing, rowing and power boating as a way for young and old alike to get into sport and get them coming back for more.”

Designed in response to local demand, the Community Sport Activation Fund allows local charities like All-Aboard! Watersports to apply for funding for innovative projects that will get more people playing sport.
