Experience

Alistair is an outstanding practitioner who is currently working as an Assistant Head teacher. Since he joined Berrybrook, the provision of English has improved dramatically, strengthening the delivery of all areas of the curriculum and moving the school’s Key stage 2 SATs results from well below national average to significantly above, with the 2016 results placing the school in the top 10% of schools in the country for progress.

As part of the Perry Hall Multi-Academy Trust, Alistair has shared his expertise with staff and senior leaders across the academy and played a key role in successfully moving the MAT into the new curriculum.
Through his role as an English lead teacher for ConnectEd, Alistair has worked with fellow coordinators from across Wolverhampton to create standardization material and deliver training for other English coordinators and teachers, sharing his knowledge and outstanding practice to enhance the impact of other schools. He also met with leaders from other countries to share practice and learn from how they have supported schools.
Alistair has already supported other schools, including a Birmingham school that wished to raise their fallen standards in Reading. This school’s predicted levels currently show that just after one term the number of pupils reaching the expected standard has nearly doubled compared to last year’s results.
