Secondary Occasional Teacher Roster

Sault Ste. Marie & Central Algoma

The Algoma District School Board offers teaching opportunities in urban and rural communities with many advantages for personal and professional growth. We serve a geographic area of 70,534 square kilometers in Northern Ontario with 10 secondary schools in Hornepayne, Chapleau, Wawa, Sault Ste Marie, Central Algoma, Blind River and Elliot Lake.

Applications will be received no later than Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 3:30 p.m.

Please ensure the following documents are included in your application package:

·  Resume, 3 pages maximum, clearly outlining the following areas:

-teaching experience (Contract, LTO, occasional, summer/night school, teaching practicum)

-professional development/learning activities (in past 5 years)

-other experience working with young people / students

(e.g. tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth camps, swim/music instructor etc.)

-additional training and certifications that would support a teaching position

·  Cover letter, 2 pages maximum, clearly outlining the following:

-Why you believe you are a good fit to support the ADSB Mission, Vision and Strategic Priorities

-A brief summary of your philosophy of education

·  Ontario College of Teacher’s Certificate of Qualification 2016 (New Grads will be considered)

·  University Transcripts, including undergrad, indicating course concentrations and marks.

(An official transcript must be presented at the time of interview.)

·  Two most recent teaching evaluation reports and/or practice teaching reports

·  Two references
