Howdy,
I hope you have had a good first part of the summer and are ready for the exciting 83rd Texas State FFA Convention. Hope so, because we are leaving for Lubbock and the convention on Monday, July 11. The Crowley FFA advisors and I have met and the plans are finalized.
You will need to be at the AledoAgricultureBuilding by 5:30 a.m. (yes, that’s 5:30 in the morning) on Monday, July 11. The bus leaves at 6:00 a.m., don’t be late.
If you bring personal electronic devices on the trip then you must use earphones with them. Please limit your luggage to one piece plus a carry-on for the trip. You might also want to bring a pillow and blanket for the trip.
You will need “official-official dress” for attending leadership workshops on Tuesday, and the convention sessions all day on Wednesday, most of the day on Thursday, and Friday morning. Check the attached official dress guidelines. School appropriate clothing for the trip and other non-official dress times will be required. Bring your swim suits just in case; young ladies if you choose to wear a two-piece suit you will need to wear a normal length T shirt along with it.
In addition to the $100 deposit that you have already paid you will need to bring $50 in cash to complete your payment obligations for the trip.The Ag Backers have furnished money to pay for your registration, housing, a portion of the bus cost, and a good portion of your meal money. The Ag Backers will give you $76 cash towards your meals plus pay for your lunch tickets on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You will need to bring additional cash for the remainder of your meals, snacks, souvenirs, and whatever other incidentals that you might need.
Also download and complete the parent permit form and Emergency Contact Information form and bring with you on Monday morning. I am looking forward to a fun and successful trip. This will be an excellent time for setting personal and chapter goals for the coming year.
