1Introduction

NPD and the oil companies in the Diskos Consortium have awarded in December 2013 the contract for operating the Seismic, Well and Production modules of the Diskos databases to CGG. The contract is for the period 2015 to 2020. This document describes the preparation activities that each Diskos member should perform in order to access the services operated by CGG from 1st January 2015.

The purpose of the Diskos database is to streamline data management for both the government and the oil companies and provide a common national data repository for exploration and production related data. The solution covers the requirements of the Norwegian regulations for confidentiality, as well as access to public information and company reporting requirements. The database also ensures long-term storage and maintenance of such data.

CGG in collaboration with partnershas replaced the previous solution, PetroBank®,owned by Landmark, with Akon®, a new software platform integrating the Trango Data Management Solution, owned by CGG,and the Whereoil® presentation layer, owned by Kadme. The IT infrastructure is managed by EVRY and is located at Green Mountain (Rennesøy-N).

This document is targeting the Diskos contact responsible, and the IT contact identified by each Diskos member for accessing the Diskos Seismic, Well and Production Modules.

1.1Services for DISKOS

The data in the Akon® solution is available online to the members of the Diskos consortium through a private web portal. In addition, an FTP service for submitting and downloading data is deployed.Access is regulated by username and password.

1.2Network Connectivity methods

According to the specific requirements of each Diskos member, connectivity could be achieved throughSOIL(Secure Oil Information Link),Direct line (Point to Point VPN, IPVPN), or even through internet usingVPN (Lan to Lan VPN, IPSEC).

SOIL Connectivity

The SOIL network is a fully managed, high-performance communications network hub owned and operated by EPIM. The network is built to operate independent from other networks, including internet. Access via SOIL is regulated by a SOIL Access Agreement, to be signed between each Diskos member and EPIM. Notice that a direct connection between the Diskos member and the SOIL network is also required. It can be coordinated both with EPIM, EVRY or any SOIL Provider approved by EPIM.

Direct Line connectivity

The Direct line is a direct connection between each Diskos member and the EVRY network where Akon® is located.Diskos Members can choose the network provider that best suits their business requirements.

VPN connectivity

The VPN connection allows Diskos Members to connect securely to the EVRY network through the internet. VPN connectivity should only be used in specific instances where the other two solutions (SOIL and Direct Line) are not applicable.
