Please briefly outline what your boards needs or areas for development are, and how you have identified them. Explain how they relate to the museum’s current situation and ambitions for the future. Tell us if you have made use of the AIM Hallmarks or other frameworks in identifying your needs or your ambitions for development.3. Proposed programme of work
All successful applicants will initially receive a half-day diagnostic visit and the consultant will expect to meet with the Chair, Chief Executive (or equivalent) on this visit and can meet other trustees if appropriate. Boards may apply for up to 7.5 days of additional consultancy time after this visit. This time may be used in a range of ways including for:· Attending or facilitating full board meetings
· Planning and facilitating a board away day or away days
· Follow up to facilitated Board awayday(s) to review progress made
· Supporting Board review and Trustee appraisal
· Establishing practice or the systems for review and appraisal of CEO/Director
· Meetings with a governance subgroup, either an existing subgroup or one convened especially for this piece of work
· Consultation with stakeholders and staff (either in person or by telephone)
· Telephone and/or email support for the Chair or other board members

We require evidence that this application is supported by the Chair of Trustees and the most senior member of staff (unless this is a voluntary-run organisation). It is extremely important that the Board should have prior knowledge of this application.
