MAIN PURPOSE
As a key member of the Fundraising & Marketing Team, this post will report to the Head of Fundraising & Marketing and work closely with Heads of Departments in the UK and Germanyto support the implementation of ACNUK’s strategy.
In support of the Head of Fundraising & Marketing, the New Media Manager will focus on agreed aspects of the fundraising marketing strategy which contribute to effective fundraising and ACN’s core aim of providing more aid to the Church in need.
Key areas of responsibility will include the following:
Website
- Responsibility for the strategic development of the website as an information and fundraising tool to agreed targets.
- Responsibility for improving site traffic and overall performance in line with the New Media strategy - including the use of Search Engine optimisation and online advertising.
- Responsibility for development of ACN’s website to ensure all agreed functionality and content is in place and maintained regularly.
- Responsibility for the development and scheduling of online campaigns, both as ‘stand alone’ initiatives and in support of Direct Marketing campaigns.
- Editorial control of the website including commissioning of material from internal and external contributors.
- Budgetary and reporting responsibility.
Digital Outreach
- Development of an e-communication and social media campaign strategy – including E-Newsletters, SMS Texting, Blogs, Phonecasts, Podcasts and social media platforms.
- Researching, planning for and implementation of content for e-communications including writing, preparation and commissioning of material.
Media Resources
- To plan, budget for and propose further developments for media resources to support content for the website and for use across all departments. These to include:
- Photography
- Photo archive development
- Sound recording
- Film footage
- CD-Rom’s
- DVD’s
To commission audio and filmed interviews, as required and write scripts and undertake interviews in collaboration with the Press and Information Department.
Promotional Materials
- Managing the Fundraising and Marketing Officer in the production and storage of printed, audio-visual and other materials required by the Fundraising and Marketing Department.
Management
- Management of the Fundraising and Marketing Officer in the execution of the strategy.
- Setting financial targets for future fundraising.
RELATIONSHIPS
The New Media Managerwill work closely with the Head of Fundraising & Marketing with whom the long-term strategic direction and immediate targets will be agreed. The Head of Fundraising & Marketing will provide the New Media Managerwith the necessary support to develop his/her own role.
The New Media Manager will line manage the Fundraising and Marketing Officer and will liaise on a regular basis with the Communications Department in our General Secretariat in Germany, and the Aid to the Church in Need network worldwide.
TARGETS
The New Media Manager will be evaluated on the success of the strategy and on meeting annual objectives.
