AICE Mechanics Summer project (Mr. Fresenbet)

The summer project is designed to review and strengthen the algebraic/geometric skills learned in the previous years that will be essential for the coming academic year. The work will be taken from IXL.com, and you need a user name and password to do this. If you are new to Potomac High School, email me and I will set up an account for you. Please don’t forget to include your student ID together with your full name.

Once you get your log in information you will login through www.ixl.com/signin/potomacshs . You have to solve at least five questions for each standard (D.6, D.7 and so on) and score a minimum of 80 %. Since this is meant to strengthen your skills before August, no user name or password will be given to you until July.

There are 5 sections. Each section should take an average of 45 minutes. Use your notes from Algebra 2, Geometry and pre-calculus to answer these questions. For every section - show your work. We prefer that you do this summer assignment late in the summer, so that it is fresh in your memory when school begins in August.

This assignment needs to be completed by Tuesday, September 5th, 2017!

Per Prince William County Schools regulations this assignment is optional, however it will be given as homework during the 1st week of school if it is not completed over the summer. It is essential that we check that you have the basic algebraic & geometric skills essential before under taking the AICE Mechanics course.

There will also be a quiz in the 2nd week of the AICE Mechanics course on this material to make sure you really do understand this material. Students will not be given an opportunity to retake this quiz as the material will cover prerequisites for this course.

If you have any questions, please contact me at . I will only check my email weekly so please be patient on a response.
