Dear AHS Community,
As you may be aware, AHS has limited parking space available for students, so we wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the process for obtaining a permit and the policies for parking. Please note, parking spaces are provided on a first come, first serve basis.
AHS Student Parking Procedures
1. Beginning August 1, 2016, students can obtain a parking application from the Albemarle High School website (www2.k12albemarle.org/school/ahs) or from the main office at AHS. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
o As a Senior privilege, Seniors are given the first opportunity to obtain parking applications. Seniors only may obtain an application between August 1 and August 12.
o Juniors may obtain a parking application beginning August 15.
o Spaces will not be held for over the phone requests.
2. Students must provide the following items in order to receive a permit for an assigned space, if a space is available.
o Completed parking application
o Pay the permit fee of $35 (set by the county)
o Present a valid driver’s license or provisional license only. NO learner’s permits allowed.
o Present a valid vehicle registration
3. In order to try to accommodate as many students as we can and provide some flexibility during the school year, a wait list for student parking will be established. Students will be notified should a space become available during the school year.
AHS Student Parking Policies
1. Parking spaces are provided on a first come, first serve basis.
2. All students MUST park in their assigned space on the first day of school. There will not be a parking grace period.
3. Students will not be permitted to park in the faculty/staff parking lot or in visitor spaces. Parking will be closely monitored.
4. Sophomores and freshmen are NOT permitted to park on school grounds.
