The agriculture engineer is the one who works for the development of the equipments and facilities to help the farmers improving the quality of the agricultural product. He or she is responsible for providing various solutions of the problems by applying the knowledge of biological sciences related to agriculture and farming. He or she needs to do solve the problems related to the irrigation, power, electrification, soil and water conservation etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

There are the following duties and responsibilities of an agricultural engineer which have to be fulfilled:

• An agricultural engineer has the prime responsibility to deal with problems faced by the farming community.

• He or she needs to solve the problems connected to weather conditions like temperature, humidity and their effects on plants.

• He or she needs to explain the study procedures or effectiveness of using insecticides to the farmers.

• He or she needs to develop the different testing equipment and tools.

• It is needed to develop and design the tools based which aid in sensing, measuring, and recording different problems faced by farmers.

• It is very necessary to oversee and review all the planning and supervising the construction of equipment for land tillage, irrigation, power, fertilization, harvesting.

• He or she has to prevent various plant and animal disease, insect control etc

• He or she is responsible for looking after the construction of facilities for the storage of crops, animal shelters; ensure water supply, and proper waste disposal.

• The person needs to be very sure that the drainage, flood-control measures for soil and water conservation are properly in place.

• The major duty is to give advice to farmers properly.

• It is the duty to help in increasing the output and productivity.

• He or she needs to conduct the radio and television educational programmers for the production.

Education and Qualifications
