Agent Installation Steps

CHANGE THE COMPUTR NAME

Before you go for agent installation you need to change the name of your computer with the following steps-

  1. First right click on “My Computer” & click on “Properties”.

  1. Then click on “Computer Name” & after that click on “Change” tab.

  1. A new window will appear, where you need to change only the computer name as given below-

i) <LOCATION CODE>-<APPLICATION CODE>-<LAST PART OF IP ADDRESS OF YOUR MACHINE>

For example-: There is a PC at Agra location using FOIS application with ip address- 10.156.201.10 So its computer name will be

AGC-FOIS-10

  1. Now click ok on every window then restart the machine.

Agent Installation steps:

  1. First open Remote Control folder & install Remote Control agent on all systems except Win 95 & Win 98. This folder also contains the installation procedure.

After installation of Remote Control click on WIN XP (If your system is Win NT, Win XP, Win 2000, Win 2003) other wise click on WIN95 (for Win 95 & Win 98) & for WIN-VISTA systems open WIN VISTA folder.

2. Click on Setup.exe

3. Press Next

4. Press Yes

5. Press Next

6. Press Next

7. Press Next(Don’t write anything in user and password boxes)

8. Don’t change the default value of gateway port 9494 and endpoint port 9495.

Write

-g<space<ip address of your gateway machine<space>+9494

in "Options" text space, but don’t press “Next” button now.

Choose ip address of your gateway machine following the below given table according to your Division:

9. Before pressing next button check the following-

a) Right click on my computer icon & click on manage.

b) Go to local users & groups, then click on users

c) Right click on tmersrvd account & click on properties.

d) A new window will appear. Click on <Member Of> icon.

e) On that window click on <Add> icon. Again a new window will appear.

f) Click on <Advanced> icon & then click on < Find Now> button in new window.

g) Select <Tivoli_Admin_Privileges> & click on ok button.

h) Again click on Ok button in <Select Group> window & in tmersrvd properties window click on <Apply> button.

i) Click on <General> button & check <Account is disabled> option then click on <Apply> & after that <Ok> buttons.

j) Go back to Tivoli Client installation window.

10. After writing -g<space<ip address of your gateway machine<space>+9494

in "Options" text space Press Next

11. Click Next

Now it will try for login to gateway & after that show you a message of “Gateway login successful” if you have properly installed the agent.

At last, restart your system.
