Age of Heroes Assignment
Historians often grapple with whether history is shaped by individuals, or if individuals are a product of their environment and therefore shaped by history. Would Rome have been the same without Julius Caesar? Was Francisco Pizzaro just in the right place at the right time? Was Alexander really that great?
Your task will be to select 3 Historical Figures from the Ancient World (from the list provided) and compile a historical analysis of each in a PowerPoint Presentation.
Presentation Layout:
1)Title Slide (1)- Name, Birth & Death dates, Pictures
2)Historical Timeline (1)- cover the major events of the person’s life. (start with birth, end with death)
3)Ancient Civilization/ Time Period (1)- where and when did your person live, info, rulers, significant happenings of the time(a Map is a must)
4)Background Information (1)- Family, Religion, Economic standing, any relevant info
5)Most Significant Historical Moment (1-2)-What was your figures most significant historical moment (good or bad). Provide details. What role did they play, why was it important?
6)Conclusion (2-3)-In your opinion, did they shape history or did history shape them? Provide examples of what they did to change/ impact history or how their life was changed by what was going on around them.Mix facts with your opinion.

3)You must selected 3 figures from 3 different Civilizations/ Time periods.
4)All choices and any changes to your lineup must be confirmed with the teacher.
5)Your presentation will be submitted via USB on the due date.
6)When working in partners, every effort must be made to create a cohesive final product. It shouldn’t look like multiple projects stuck together.
7)Images are a must!
8)It is PowerPoint, not PowerParagraph.
9)When providing your opinion, longer text will be tolerated.
