FAITH TO STAND IN ADVERSITY!

“Agape” greetings to you in the Name that is above every name, LORD JESUS CHRIST, the resurrected Son of the Living God. Jesus is Lord! It is a great joy for me to share this brief message with you in this issue of Agape Ki Awaaz.

The story of Paul’s shipwreck in Acts chapter 27 teaches us much about faith. In the midst of adversity, we have a Savior. Fair weather faith is no faith at all – we need faith which will stand in adversity.

You may be going through a trial in your life, but have you realized that God makes us more than conquerors through Christ who loves us? Are you driven by circumstances through life’s storms, or does your faith in God carry you through?

In Acts 27 we read of how Paul, as a prisoner, is sent to Rome by boat. The journey becomes dangerous because of bad weather, and the boat stops off at Crete. Here Paul warns that if they set sail again, the voyage will be disastrous and bring great loss to the ship, cargo, as well as to lives. However the centurion chooses not to listen to Paul and decides instead to sail on. Sure enough, the ship is caught in a violent storm. The cargo is thrown overboard. They are driven by the storm for many days. Eventually, all hope of being saved is lost.

At this point, Paul speaks up, “Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. And now, I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship”(verses 21-22).

He explains how an angel had appeared to him, telling him that he had yet to stand trial before Caesar, and that God had graciously given him the lives of all who sailed. With these words Paul encouraged them to have faith in God. After a time, land was sighted and the ship was run aground. Just as God had promised, every life on the ship was saved.

Paul triumphed in the face of adversity. Paul had true faith, faith which operates in the midst of a storm. He understood God’s Word, and he knew that no circumstance could go against that Word of God. He knew that God’s promises always come to pass.

The real test of a Christian is how they respond in the face of adversity. When the storms of life come, do you let circumstances overwhelm you? Do you have faith which operates only when everything is going well? God wants us to have true faith. He wants us to be able to stand in adversity and know that He will deliver us. God is in control of everything. He is Almighty and Supreme. We are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7. Don’t fear a storm – know to Whom you can turn in the midst of adversity. “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me” Psalms 50:15 .

Faith is a gift of God, He wants you to have faith of your own.

The soldiers aboard the ship relied on Paul’s faith. They had given up every source of hope, until Paul spoke and they were cheered by what he said. The storm was still raging around them, but they saw that Paul had faith.

When you go through life’s storms, you need to hear the Word of God from a man of faith. This is why God has built His church, and why we are told not to forsake the gathering of ourselves together. God has built the church for us as a haven where we can find faith.

You need to hear God’s Word in your time of trial. The Bible tells us that “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. Romans 10:17.

In the midst of opposition you have to walk tall, to know who you are and what you have. When everything else seems to be contrary, you have to know your God.

Don’t let circumstances drive you. Have faith in God in the midst of adversity. Make the right choices in life – don’t be driven by desires, ambition and lusts. Whatever storms life may throw at you, remember that God is in control and that “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” Romans 8:37.

My friend, Decide today, right now, to live in His will and to be blessed! It is your choice?

Is Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life, if He is not, Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call

upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” That Name is ‘Jesus!’ Savior, Healer, Deliverer! Do it today, call upon Him and receive your resurrection miracle from Jesus right now!

If you have not invited Jesus into your heart as Lord and personal Savior, you can do that right now. Just pray this simple prayer, “Dear Father in Heaven, I come to You now, I confess my sins and I ask for forgiveness. Wash me clean by Jesus’ precious blood. I acknowledge and receive Your Son Jesus Christ into my heart as my Lord and my Savior. Thank You Lord Jesus for saving me and writing my name in the Book of life. I receive the Grace to serve You all the days of my life. Amen”.

Friend, if you have meant that prayer, He has come, Lord Jesus Christ is yours. Heaven is your home; see you there, if not here! God bless and keep you and your dear family!

My friend, if you are sick and afflicted, YOU CAN BE HEALED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! Jesus is the One who can get you well. So in Jesus’ Name be healed! Be Healed! Receive your miracle in the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ! Amen! To God be the Glory! Hallelujah!

HUMOR

PROVERBS 17:22

A merry heart does good like medicine: but a broken spirit dries the bones.”

Today's Clean Laugh

The boss was very exasperated with his new secretary.

She ignored the telephone when it rang.

"You must answer the telephone," he told her irritably.

"All right," she replied, "but it seems so silly. Nine times out of ten, it's for you!"

PRAYER THOUGHT

“Most holy and gracious heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, oh Lord, my strength, and my Redeemer.

I thank You that You have taught me in the area of faith.

I will cultivate and harvest faith in my life from today.

Lord, I give You all the praise and the glory.

Thank You for the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Savior of the world.
Lord, Change my heart! Fill me with Your love of forgiveness and mercy!

Lord, I love You and I will love my neighbor and will be a blessing to them.
My Father and my God, I will please You with my faith and will live for You.

In the Mighty Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!”

“Agape Ki Awaaz” in each issue we will report the miracles of God and His promises, a little message to help you and your loved ones to have greater faith in God. Read and pass on to someone.

Remember, God’s miracles are for you! There is power in prayer. Success, Health, Salvation, Happiness and Prosperity are for YOU and your HOUSEHOLD. Faith and miracles are for you today. God has more miracles than your needs. Christ died to give YOU abundant living. Because Jesus suffered for YOU, you can be happy, you can have abundant life, you can be healed, you can have success, and you can prosper.

Good things are happening to people, who ask for prayer. God has been reaching out to YOU. Do you have needs? Are there problems you cannot solve? Is there sickness? Will you give God a chance to PROVE His power to YOU?

We believe in prayer, call us, write or visit our church. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” and what He is doing for others, He wants to do for YOU! God loves you and so do we at Agape Revival Centre, 22 Nadonumai Road, Lami. Till next issue, God be with you!
