Dye Preserve Member, Jeff Hines’ remarks on his experience at Old Head Golf Links:

Amy,

First, I would like to thank you for the introduction and arrangements at Old Head in Ireland. Not knowing what to expect under the new affiliate program, I could not have been happier. The people there were welcoming and made my couple of days there a real treat. I was alone and based on that famous Irish hospitality was put with the head of golf and a member director to play a thoroughly enjoyable game. Bottom line, I was treated as if I were a member of Old Head. I'll tell you and hope you pass it on to fellow Dye members that if they have not played Old Head they should get on a plane and do so immediately. It is one of those courses that makes one understand why we play the game. Beautiful.

I will tell you that the program set up by the Dye Preserve is a real value added deal. We have some of the best private clubs in the states and elsewhere that we can use as if we are members. In essence, by joining the Dye I now have a network of clubs I can use with family and friends. I'm excited and based on your help will use many of these clubs moving forward.

I would recommend you encourage my fellow members and any potential members to use this benefit. The Dye is a great club but this program puts it over the top as far as I am concerned.

Thanks again.

Jeff Hines

Hole #3

Greens superintendent, Jimmy Kilgore, and his crew have completed the work on hole #3 in a week’s time—a remarkable accomplishment. We extended the bulkhead, as well as the greenside bunker, which greatly enhances the look of this hole and creates some exciting new golf shot opportunities for shots that previously would have ended up in the water.

The crew also aerated the greens and verticut the fairways this past Monday and Tuesday. The Celebration grass grows so quickly that, after one week, you can barley notice the work recently completed

FSGA Event

Please note that the club will be hosting a Florida State Golf Association One-Day Event on Wednesday, June 29th. The course will be open for member play beginning at 1:30PM.

Rain

The Dye Preserve saw close to 4 inches of much-needed rain last weekend. Whether this has something to do with Joe Webster’s recent resignation from the Weather Committee has yet to be determined.
