AFCEA COURSESTRAVEL

AFCEAPROFESSIONALDEVELOPMENTCENTER

The AFCEA Educational Foundation’s Professional Development Center (PDC) courses, internationally recognized for excellence and taught by world-class instructors, can travel to military organizations and corporations. Let us bring our courses to your location and save you money.

We can bring time-proven courses taught at the PDC in Fairfax, Virginia, to your site, saving you the costs associated with traveling to Fairfax such as airfare, rental car, hotel and per diem. In some cases, depending on class sizes, your training costs can be reduced by 50%. When our courses “go on the road,” the same high-quality instruction that is provided in our Fairfax facility is delivered at your location by the same instructors.

Our Fairfax courses, open to all applicants, must be kept reasonably general. On-site courses can be tailored to the needs of the sponsoring organization.

Most courses in the PDC Catalog can travel to you. The process is as follows:

Four Months Prior to Course Start Date:

  1. Contact the PDC with the following information to facilitate a discussion about what is feasible:
  2. Desired course
  3. Preferred dates
  4. Specific course location
  5. Expected class size
  6. Request for tailoring the course
  7. PDC consults with instructor regarding proposed course dates and tailoring requirements, if any.
  8. PDC submits a Training Proposal to the client. Training Proposal requires the name and complete contact information for a point of contact (POC) at the client’s course site.
  9. Upon receipt of a completed and signed Training Proposal, the PDC signs a contract with the instructor for preparation and delivery of the desired course.
  10. Client submits Purchase Order to PDC.
  11. If course tailoring is desired, the PDC will facilitate discussion between the client’s appropriate representative and the instructor.

Three Months Prior to Course Start Date:

  1. The PDC and client’s POC coordinate regarding responsibilities outlined in the Training Proposal.
  2. Client’s POC provides PDC with information on local hotels, airport, and area maps/driving instructions, etc. for instructor travel.

Two Months Prior to Course Start Date:

AFCEA invoices the client.

Two Weeks Prior to the Course Start Date:

  1. Client’s POC advises PDC of final student count and submits a student list with first and last names to the PDC.
  2. PDC makes arrangements for printing course books and delivery to client’s POC.
  3. PDC prepares and sends the client’s POC a course certificate for each student and instructions, if any, from the instructor.

There is no standard pricing schedule. Course pricing is developed on a case-by-case basis. A small, specialized course with few students and a large, general interest course with a substantial number of students require different pricing. The AFCEA Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization. As a result, the PDC is dedicated to providing the best and most economical training.

Courses are described in full on the AFCEA web site: and briefly in the PDC catalog.
