JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Technical Sales Manager

Reporting To: Managing Director

Salary: Negotiable

Purpose: To manage the effective development and implementation of a sales and marketing strategy aimed at increasing the company profile within target markets resulting in the generation of new customers and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

·  As a key member of the management team, contribute to the development of the short, medium and long term business strategies for the company and lead the development of the sales and marketing component of these strategies.

·  In conjunction with the management team, ensure the appropriate and smooth transition of these strategies into business objectives that allow for meaningful audit of business practice and success.

·  In conjunction with the Managing Director, develop and ensure the execution of challenging sales targets, construct sales forecasts and monitor and report on sales achievement.

·  Identify, profile, analyse and implement new business opportunities in target markets and ascertain the most appropriate means of entry in each case.

·  Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key customers to ensure the expansion of sales opportunities for the company’s products.

·  Manage the growth of the geographical base for the company’s products by exploring and following up on export opportunities, establishing and managing relationships with distributors/re-sellers in order to facilitate penetration of these markets.

·  Conduct all necessary research and analysis, including acquiring and collating appropriate target market data and competitor profiles, in order to identify potential markets and customer leads.

·  Contribute to product development, customer care and the company’s approach to quality through the presentation of customer feedback and market research.

·  Update and maintain a database of existing and potential customers.

·  Introduce prospective customers to company products through the use of corporate presentations, site visits and meetings.

·  Provide technical guidance to customers and negotiate pricing within defined parameters.

·  Provide customers with after-sales support and training in the use of the company’s products.

·  Validate functionality of changes to products as requested by customers.

·  Initiate regular contact with key customers to establish their level of satisfaction with the company’s products, investigating and resolving any concerns in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the customer.

·  Manage marketing activities for the company including the development/updating of promotional materials, involvement in website development and maintenance, and attendance at exhibitions and trade shows for the purpose of building brand awareness.

·  Liaise effectively with the Technical Director and other company staff.

·  Manage all communication and liaison with the company’s distributor/re-seller network, providing technical and pricing information and support, and collating feedback from distributors/re-sellers regarding market activity.

·  Produce regular sales activity reports and other information as required by the management team to assist with sales, financial and operational planning.

·  Ensure that customer care is highly reflected throughout all aspects of work undertaken within the business, and that each customer is handled in an efficient and professional manner.

·  Any other duties, within reason and capability, as determined by the Directors.
