SHIAWASSEE ROAD RECONSTRUCTION

Sealed Bids for the CITY OF FARMINGTON SHIAWASSEE ROAD RECONSTRUCTION AND WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT will be received by the City of Farmington until 10:00 AM, local time, on February 13th, 2007, at the office of the City Clerk located at 23600 Liberty Street, Farmington, MI 48335, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The approximate quantities of major items of work are as follows:

Remove Pavement 24,000 syd

HMA MDOT 4C Wearing Course 2,700 tons

HMA MDOT 3C Leveling Course 2,700 tons

HMA MDOT 2C Base Course 5,400 tons

Remove Water Main 4,400 lft

Abandon 8” Diameter Water Main 2,200 lft

8” CL 54 DI Water Main 1,500 lft

This project consists of reconstructing approximately one (1) mile of road, removing approximately 4,400 lft of water main as well as abandoning 2,200 lft of water main along Shiawassee Road between Farmington Road and Orchard Lake Road. As a result of these improvements there will be driveway approach replacements. In addition, there will be geometric improvements at various intersections. The work will include approximately 1,500 lft of 8" watermain installation with fire hydrants and appurtenances.

Copies thereof may be obtained on or after 1:00 PM, local time, January 16th, 2007, at the office of the ENGINEER, Orchard, Hiltz & McCliment, Inc., 34000 Plymouth Road, Livonia, MI 48150. A non-refundable fee of eighty dollars ($80.00) will be charged for each set of Contract Documents. An additional non-refundable fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) will be charged for each set of Contract Documents which are mailed.

Proposals shall be enclosed in sealed envelopes plainly marked on the lower left-hand corner with: CITY of FARMINGTON SHIAWASSEE ROAD RECONTRUCTION PROJECT, and the name of the bidder. Bid Security in the form of a Certified or Cashier's Check or Bid Bond for a sum no less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid will be required with each Bid.

No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of the Bids. The OWNER reserves the right to accept any Bid, reject any Bid, or waive irregularities in Bids.
