We will set you up within Wizards of the Coast’s vendor system, and give you additional adventure design documents for you to reference. You may not receive an adventure assignment for a while, as we have a rotation schedule, but if you’ve been approved, you should receive an assignment for a future storyline.

D&D Adventurers League Adventure Design Projects

After assigned an adventure design project, a designer receives the following.

  • An additional design guide specific to the storyline season
  • A contract for work (Wizards pays for and owns the rights to the content)
  • A concept containing the adventure name, target level, adventure description, and any special requirements
  • A schedule

Adventure designers then complete a short outline of their adventure and submit it back for approval.

Once an adventure designer’s outline is approved, the designer has approximately six weeks for adventure design. After that time, the adventure is submitted, the designer invoices for payment, and the adventure is developed, playtested, edited, and published.
